Jeonghan turned his phone off and walked trough the entrance of the school building that dangerously towered over him. He smoothed out the wrinkles in his clothing with both hands before hiking up his backpack a little higher. The first few hours of the day would be the start of a new project. Saying Jeonghan wasn't in the mood for it would've been an understatement.

If they could've chosen their own teammates, it would've been fine by him. But their teachers decided it would be for the best if the class mixed up a little more and made more contacts in the last two months of the year.

But the point is, Jeonghan didn't need more contacts. He even shut himself off of his friends most of the time, how was he going to hold up with someone else. He didn't even know half of the class because he found it a waste of his time to actually get to know them.

He even knew they were going to kick him from school anytime, so why would they take the effort to actually pair him up with someone when that person was going to work alone on the project after a while anyways?

Still clouded in his thoughts he opened his locker, loading the unnecessary books he didn't need until after break out of his bag into his locker. Hanging his leather black jacket inside and emptying the rest of the junk from his bag. He only needed one book and a notepad the first class and carrying his bag filled with unnecessary stuff would only hurt his back.

"Han!" Before he could turn around a boy jumped half on his back and Jeonghan almost sank to his knees. Without turning around he knew immediately who the extremely energetic boy was.

"Soonyoung! Get off me!" Jeonghan yelled back, trying to shake him off. Soonyoung only giggled and gave him a little more space. "Sorry hyung." He said in his utterly sweet voice and Jeonghan couldn't help to ruffle trough his recently bleached hair, soft as ever.

"Don't worry Soonie, you know i can have it from you."

"So if i jumped on your back you'd ruffle my hair too?" The deep voice of Wonwoo was heard from behind Soonyoung.

"Don't you even dare, punk!" Jeonghan yelled at the black haired boy with bangs almost covering his eyes. "I wasn't planning on doing it anyways." Jeon Wonwoo replied, still in his usual playful deep tone.

Jeonghan closed his locker, jumping a little in terror as it revealed Jisoo who had been standing behind the little iron door the whole time.

"Goodmorning to you too." Jisoo said with an amusing tone in his voice.

"Yah! Can you stop doing that every single morning!" Jeonghan scolded, lightly slabbing his chest in the process. It was something he couldn't get used to no matter how many times jisoo scared him in that exact same way before. And every single time it resulted in jisoo to laugh his lungs out.

"I'm sorry but your reaction is just too funny." Jisoo said wiping away his non existing tears.

"I don't like you a single bit." Jeonghan said pointing a finger at the boy who couldn't stop laughing. Of course not meaning what he said because among his friends he was closest to Jisoo. And he knew most of the situation that was going on at home. if i can even call it a home.

Jeonghan's phone buzzed in his pocket the moment he locked his locker and he picked it up from the depths of his back pocket. He froze instantly seeing the message he got. It was his dad, again.

dad: hey jeonghan. how is school?

He swiped the message away, trying not to show his hurt expression to his friends. The messages came every now and then and Jeonghan had no idea how to handle them. Especially because one moment his dad seemed all caring and all, but the other moment when he had contact with some woman he found online he would ignore his son for days. And today seemed like a day where no woman entered his chat, so his attention went to Jeonghan.

And jeonghan found it hard to accept. So most of the times he ignored the messages, not in the mood to talk to his dad.

Unfortunately, Jisoo saw it and gave him an apologetic look. Which Jeonghan just ignored as he shoved himself past Jisoo in the direction of their classroom. "Let's go, we don't want to be late don't we?" He said, sounding more like a joke than serious. But his friends were used to this and just shot a few looks to each other before happily following Jeonghan again.

Of course they were worried, but they knew they couldn't come closer to Jeonghan than this and they were determined to keep it that way. Being there for him wasn't really an option sometimes. So being there for him by acting happy around him and messing around like usual seemed like the best option if they didn't want to lose him. Because else he might shut himself off even more. And that was the last thing they wanted to achieve.
