Seungcheol liked Jeonghan's presence.
He didn't expect anything like this after their first confusing meeting in the hallway of their school. Since the moment they met he sensed there was something off with the younger. All of his expressions seemed full of pain, although he put on a really good mask to hide it away from everyone else.
Sitting on his bed, watching a show on the television that hung on the wall in front of him, he stole glances of Jeonghan who was busy collecting everything that was spread out over the floor. He had to admit, he was amused by the sight of it.
They had spend the whole day together, trying to figure out where they found their happiness in. But both had absolutely no idea how to express it. So after a few hours of sitting at the kitchen table and Jeonghan getting annoying since he was bored, one of the habits Seungcheol found out about soon enough, they decided to let it be for a moment and to do something else.
So Seungcheol had led the two to his exclusive gaming room where a lot of devices were connected to a big screen in the middle of it. The curtains were closed and they decided to turn the led strips bright purple, giving some more atmosphere to the space.
The two totally forgot about the time and the project, only finding out it was already early evening when one of the maids knocked on the door to tell dinner was ready. But the two couldn't care less about the project they were supposed to do. Because they genuinely enjoyed their afternoon and they were happy they got to know each other better in that way.
After their incident in the hallway they both didn't expect to have such a good time together and they didn't regret letting the project slip for a moment.
After they ate their dinner in the kitchen they went back upstairs to the room Seungcheol introduced as his bedroom. Jeonghan instantly picked up the tracks he started that same morning and grabbed hands full of clothes to throw them in the basket Seungcheol put down for him, just like Jeonghan told him so.
It was almost eight pm and Jeonghan had been cleaning up and sorting things out since half an hour. The floor actually started to get visible again and Seungcheol made a note to himself to keep it as clean as possible after Jeonghan would be done.
But beside that there was a lot more on his mind while he kept shooting glances over at the boy. For some reason he found himself getting strangely much attracted to him. His long brownish hair he had to tuck behind his ear every now and then so it wouldn't be in his sight. Their height difference. His cute little habits Seungcheol found out soon enough.
Seungcheol wasn't new to feelings, but he found it strange how they overwhelmed him so fast.
But he thought there might even be another reason why he was so attracted to the long haired boy. It was the feeling he gave him. Something he had never felt before.
He felt like Jeonghan understood him.
Not knowing why he thought so, but he knew there was something going on with Jeonghan. Even if Jeonghan didn't tell him yesterday he would've noticed it right away. Because he might seem all happy and bubbly all the time, but the mask he was wearing was way too visible.
Even at that moment, when he was focussed on cleaning up Seungcheol's mess, Seungcheol could clearly sense that he was completely somewhere else with his thoughts. Even though the problems they were going trough probably didn't match, they could understand each other because they both knew what it felt like.
And that might be the main reason he got strangely much attracted to Jeonghan.
Although he had a feeling what it could be. Because that same morning when Seungcheol offered to give Jeonghan a drive to his home to pick up some clothes for him Jeonghan seemed to instantly panic, not wanting to go home. But further than that, Seungcheol had no idea what was going on inside his head. And he knew from his own experience that it was for the best to keep it that way because it was quite scary to face confrontations.
"Are you sure I don't need to help you?"
Jeonghan's head shot up after hearing Seungcheol's words coming from the bed. Seungcheol paused the show he was watching and shoved his body to the foot of the bed, trying to be at least a little helpful. It made a little regret fill his systems while he watched Jeonghan cleaning his mess. Wasn't he supposed to clean this himself? It was his own room after all.
"Seungcheol please stay on your bed. I bet you even make it a bigger mess if you help me." Jeonghan said what made Seungcheol fall back on the bed in laughter. While he lay on his side he kept his gaze fixated on Jeonghan who threw the last pair of clothes in the basket, that was filled til a little over the edge.
"Should I go out to tell one of your maids I have laundry? Or where is your washing machine so I can do it myself?" Jeonghan asked.
"I'll put it right outside the door, they told me to lay my laundry there if I wanted something to get cleaned. That way they don't have to come in my room." Seungcheol answered, getting off the bed to drag the laundry basket out of his room.
When he came back the first thing he saw was Jeonghan with a pile of pizza boxes in his hand, searching for something to throw them away. But Seungcheol stopped him by taking them from his hands and putting them away.
"Jeonghan you really did more than enough for today." Seungcheol said, giving him an honest smile.
"But it's still a mess in here." Jeonghan whined, immediately wanting to grab them back, only to get stopped by Seungcheol.
"No, I should take you home. It's getting darker outside." Seungcheols earlier questions immediately got answered when he saw Jeonghan's face drop upon hearing the word home.
"Yeah you're right.." Jeonghan said, sounding a little said but trying his best to give Seungcheol a smile anyways.
Seungcheol almost felt guilty to bring him back home. But he knew he couldn't just let him stay over at his house for an assumption inside his head. What if it was just his imagination? Maybe there wasn't anything going on at Jeonghan's home?
But for some reason, he knew he would be lying to himself if he called it "an assumption". Because there had to be more than just that.
