"Jeonghan? What are you doing here?"

Wonwoo looked confused when he saw Jeonghan standing on his doorstep, holding a small plastic bag in his hand. After the two full weeks Jeonghan had spent in bed, he was one of the last persons he would have expected to ring his doorbell.

"I decided to get out of bed and go out for a bit! Surprising huh?" Jeonghan laughed about the shocked expression on Wonwoo's face. "And I wanted to ask you for a favor.." He added, scratching the back of his head.

"Yes sure, come in." Wonwoo replied dryly, stepping aside to make room for Jeonghan to get in. "My parents aren't at home though and my sister sleeps at my grandparents house the next three days, so i'm basically all by myself."

"That's cool, i guess." Jeonghan took his shoes off and walked inside, plopping himself on the couch in the living room.

"So what is it you wanted to ask me?" Wonwoo sat down next to Jeonghan, surprisingly interested in whatever the long haired boy had to say. Jeonghan held the white plastic bag up, making Wonwoo even more confused to what he was trying to say.

"I was wondering if you could help me dye my hai-"

"-YOU WHAT?!" Wonwoo yelled out, extremely confused and not believing the words that just came out of Jeonghan's mouth. It couldn't be. "Jeonghan, you literally idolize your own hair, why do you want to dye it out of sudden?!"

"Wonwoo, you know this isn't even my natural color. I've only had this for about a year or so because my last colour flopped, it used to be just black. And I'm not even at the best part yet." Jeonghan grinned when he saw Wonwoo's eyes widening even more than they already did. "I'm going to cut it off as well."

Wonwoo gasped and shook his head, pointing a finger at Jeonghan. "No no no no. You're just messing with me, you can't tell me you're going to cut off your hair. Jeonghan you've been growing it out since, how many years was it again?"

"Five years."

"Exactly! Five years! All the effort you put in your hair will go to waste if you cut it off."

Jeonghan nonchalantly shrugged, starting to unpack the bottle of bleach and the platinum blonde hair dye. "I wanted to try something new. And besides, Jisoo told me to get Seungcheol off my mind for a bit. He always used to play with my hair, so if I cut it off the memories will be gone."

"Jeonghan, don't you think there are better ways to get over him?"

"It's not only to get over him!" Jeonghan said, crossing his arms in defense. "I just don't really like my long hair as much as I used to do amymore and I want to try something refreshing."

Sudden insecurity hit him in the guts. What if Wonwoo was trying to stop him because he knew it would look horrible on him. What if his opinion on it was bad and his friends would start thinking of him as the disgrace of their group.

"You think it would look ugly on me... right?"

"No of course not! Come on Jeonghan, don't be stupid, you know you're the only one in the group who can pull anything off. I was just thinking that- you know what fuck it, i'm dyeing your hair. Get your ass up from the couch we're moving to the bathroom."

Jeonghan excitedly jumped up from the couch, following Wonwoo to the staircase. Telling Wonwoo that he didn't like his hair that much anymore had been a lie. How could he not love his hair when he knew how many people around him adored it. He was known for his angel-like locks of hair, accentuating the features of his face perfectly.

However, every time he looked at himself in the mirror he could clearly imagine the reflection of Seungcheol brushing through it. The nights where Seungcheol held him close and combed his fingers through his long hair, complimenting how beautiful it was, were printed too clearly on his mind.

He didn't know how to get rid of them, until the brilliant idea of cutting everything off popped up in his mind. Was it a little extreme? Yes. Jeonghan was totally aware of it. But according to Jisoo, he had to get himself out of the house again. And this was his way of finding entertainment.

Wonwoo opened the curtains, letting natural light fill the small but cutely decorated bathroom. Jeonghan put the tube of hair color and the bottle of bleach on the edge of the sink, taking one last close look at his hair in the mirror.

"Are you a hundred percent sure you want to do this?" Wonwoo asked one last time, opening the drawer underneath the sink, looking for a pair of scissors. He pulled one out and offered it to Jeonghan, who seemed to start having his doubts on it.

Maybe he shouldn't have made such an impulsive decision. Maybe Wonwoo was right, there were plenty enough other ways to get over Seungcheol. His hair was indeed something he adored very much and maybe it was for the best if he just backed out of it and didn't do something he might regret later on.

But the bottle of platinum blond hair dye looked so alluring.. and he knew he couldn't restrain himself.

Without thinking twice he collected all his hair together in one hand and took over the pair of scissors Wonwoo held out for him. He sliced the scissor through his hair and with one movement of his hand he cut everything off.

With slightly trembling hands he looked at the handful of hair he was holding onto, averting his gaze back to the mirror in front of them. "Holy fuck.." Wonwoo whispered underneath his breath, looking at Jeonghan as if it was a complete new human being.

And Jeonghan agreed to that. He felt like he was reborn, the endings of his hair touching only the tops of his ears instead of his shoulder blades. And surprisingly, he liked it. Way better than how he had ever liked his long hair.

"It's a little uneven, but I'll help you with that. Sit down in the bathtub, we got something to do!"
