jeon wontoes: I'M NOT MEAN I'M TELLING HIM THE TRUTH
Jeonghan turned off his phone, finding out Seungcheol had already turned it down and had been staring at him with a smile on his lips. Heat crept up to Jeonghan's cheeks as he looked back. How was Seungcheol even possible to look so good without having to try? why am i even thinking about him in that way?
"Don't worry about this whole toe stuff. You'll laugh about it eventually." Jeonghan tried to reassure Seungcheol, not knowing what the elder thought about it at all.
"As if i'm actually worrying about it? Trust me, I like something crazy." Seungcheol said adding a playful wink. At this point Jeonghan started getting used to Seungcheol's occasional flirty behavior towards him and he absolutely didn't mind.
They were back at Seungcheol's house again and both seated on his bed, brainstorming about the project. Getting an actual idea on the topic and their presentation seemed impossible and after nearly half an hour they had already given up.
Jeonghan suddenly dropped himself on the huge double bed, leaving enough space for Seungcheol while he just lay down and stared up the ceiling. Seungcheol did the same and lay down close next to him. Even though he kept a respective space in-between, Jeonghan felt the heat that radiated off his body and he would be lying if he said he was okay with the space in-between. Because after the short hug he received that morning, he wished to be in Seungcheol's hold way longer.
His phone suddenly buzzed in his pocket and confused he reached for it. Who would text him at this time of the day beside his friends? Because he muted their group chat on purpose, knowing how their texts could go on for the rest of the afternoon.
When his lock screen lit up his smile disappeared right away.
dad: hey jeonghan! how was your day today? would you like to come over for dinner tomorrow?
Instantly he swiped the text away and threw his phone to the other side of his bed, still not in the mood to talk to his dad. In silence he kept staring up at the ceiling. He was aware of the fact that Seungcheol might've read the message while laying next to him and he didn't know yet if he was ready to face the confrontation to open up about it. So he just said nothing.
Meanwhile everything fell in place for Seungcheol.
his parents divorced..
Trough the text he accidentally saw, he knew exactly what was going on and a lot of questions lingered trough his head. When did it happen? How long has it been bothering Jeonghan? What did his dad do to them? Is he.. okay?
So without a doubt Seungcheol suddenly rolled over, clinging onto Jeonghan who was a bit startled by the sudden move. But he instantly hugged back, embracing himself in the warmth he needed for god knows how long.
"He just.. left.." Jeonghan said a bit defeated, snuggling his nose into the crook of Seungcheol's neck and taking in the scent as he did so. "It has been a month since he left me and my mother and sometimes he texts me. That he misses me or that he wants to see me. But whenever he talks to other women, he acts like I don't exist and I have no idea how to handle it.."
It was the first time he talked about it with someone. The first time he said it out loud. And although the confrontation seemed so scary all along, he didn't cry. He didn't felt like crying the moment Seungcheol held him close. Jeonghan didn't even understood why he could talk about so easily all out of sudden.
"Why did he leave?" Seungcheol asked him fully calm, not wanting to make him cry or freak him out in any possible way.
"I don't know.. He said he didn't feel happy with us anymore so he left. And the worst part is that my mom keeps on telling me everything about what happened between them, even before he actually left and I can't do it anymore. But I know I'm egoistic if I stop listening to her and helping her." Jeonghan whispered while he held onto Seungcheol a little tighter "I don't even know why I'm telling you all this. I've never talked about this with anyone before."
"Jeonghan, you're not egoistic if you tell your mom you can't do it anymore. Does she have friends that help her?"
"She does.. and she calls with them all the time, but she still tells me too much every night.."
"She shouldn't put all that weight on your shoulder Han. Your mom is supposed to be there for you, not the other way around. And if she isn't satisfied with telling her friends she should reach out to someone, but not you. You're practically still a child." Seungcheol tries his best to reassure him. Although he knows how hard situations like these can be.
"But she told me I'm egoistic before.."
"Hey hey hey.. she shouldn't tell you things like that. As a mother you're not supposed to tell your child such a thing. You're not egoistic for giving in to your own feelings and to tell your mom she can better share her problems with someone else than you."
Jeonghan just nodded, finding it hard to find the right words to reply on Seungcheol's advice. Confrontation indeed was very scary. Terrifying even. But it was also a big relief, since he hadn't really talked about it with anyone before.
"And if there's ever something going on at home or if you don't want to go there, you can always come here. We got enough space for you, the maids really like your presence and I would be lying if I said I wouldn't want you to sleep over." Seungcheol added.
"Thank you." Jeonghan said in a soft voice, feeling even more relieved for telling him.
Seungcheol leaned a little back to check up on Jeonghan, to see if he wasn't crying or anything else. But Jeonghan held onto him a little tighter. He couldn't care if he looked weak in front of Seungcheol. All he wanted was to feel his warmth and safety a little longer.
"Please don't leave.." He whispered, what made Seungcheol instantly lay back in their former position, moving his body even a little closer. He chuckled a little while he brushed his fingers trough Jeonghan's silky long brown hair. "I'm not leaving you by seeing if you're oka-" "-then just please stay with me like this for a little longer."
"Of course I will." Seungcheol answered. "Don't be scared of me okay, I won't leave you."
