Eric's black BMW was parked at the edge of a cliff, looking over the city in the glory of the early morning sun that was starting to rise, coloring the black night sky in different shades of orange and pink. Seungcheol could describe the view perfectly in just one word; paradise.
Ever since Eric was taught how to drive, they drove to this specific place a lot. A little up the hill to watch the peaceful sight of miniature houses and buildings from afar.
Completely sunk back in the comfortable passenger seat while enjoying the view and eating his Mc Donalds meal, Seungcheol could only think of how badly he wanted to have Jeonghan in the car so he could share the beautiful view with him. Even when, back at where Jeonghan lived, there rarely were any hills, let alone mountains. But Jeonghan was worth to drive across the country, just to make a memory and show him a place like this.
"These fries are good." Eric exclaimed, leaning his arm out of the window as he licked the salt off his lips.
"They absolutely are!" Seungcheol agreed, stuffing three more fries in his mouth. "It's been a while since we've been here, huh?"
The two shared a glance before averting their eyes back to the scenery in front of them again. "I remember the first time we ever went here. Remember how we felt so free for the first time in forever!"
"We did! I remember how you connected your phone to the bluetooth and we just blasted music on full volume. You nearly fell off the cliff when we went outside to jump on the beat."
"Can you blame me?!" Eric complained. "It was like two in the morning! There are no street lights up here since the place is supposed to be abandoned or something."
"You're right, you're right." Seungcheol let out a happy sigh. He had missed his buddy. Even if he were just gone for two and a half month, not having Eric around was something he had never experienced in his eighteen years of existing.
Eric had been his father figure and his best friend all in one. He had this side that showed maturity and a grown up man, but also this playful and carefree side that was friendly, layed back but most of all loving. Having him by his side was what helped him get through his childhood and teenage years.
"You still owe me some stories, Charlie."
Charlie. of course. How could he forget? Eric had called him Charlie ever since he was little. Seungcheol had always admired how Eric was partly American and was ably to speak the language fluently. So when they were kids, Eric had given him his own american nickname, off his own request for one.
It started off mostly as a joke, but whenever it was just the two of them Eric casually called him Charlie, neither of them minding the foreign nickname.
"Stories?"
"Come on, don't play dumb on me! You know, how was it? Tell me something about Jeonghan!"
jeonghan
"It was.. amazing." Seungcheol spoke with dreamy eyes, a smile playing on his lips. "I have never felt so free in my entire life before and I can't wait to return and leave this shithole behind me. And Jeonghan... god, he's beautiful. I've never met such a gorgeous person in my life before. He literally looks like an angel! With his long silky-like brown hair.."
Seungcheol reached a hand to his pocket and pulled out his phone, unlocking it with his fingerprint and searching for a picture of Jeonghan. The first photo he found was a picture of them together, laying in his bed with Jeonghan's head resting on his shoulder. "Look at him!"
