"He told me he would contact me when the moment is there!" Seungcheol said filled with pride when they walked out of the cafe towards Seungcheol's car. "To make it even better. He doesn't want to make it expensive because he knows that people might not buy it if it's too much. So if he keeps it a reasonable price I can actually take the place over!"
Jeonghan, who was just as excited as Seungcheol, clapped his hands. "I can't wait for you to take over the place!" "IF, I actually take it over. There's still a lot I have to think about before dedicating myself to a cafe." Seungcheol corrected him, not wanting to give the overly enthusiastic boy a false promise. Because he still wasn't sure yet if he could keep it since he still had to graduate high school next year.
"Okay okay, I'm sorry. I'm just saying that IF you actually take over I would be really happy." Jeonghan added a playful wink before both boys separated sides and walked to their sides of the car. They stepped in and Jeonghan let himself sink back in the big leather passengers seat, taking in the reassuring smell that lingered in the car, closing his eyes as he did so.
"I will try my best but I won't promise anything." Seungcheol shut the car door and twisted the car key in its lock. "You can still promise me you will try, right?"
Seungcheol turned to Jeonghan before driving off to his house. "Pinky promise?" The eldest stuck out his little finger with a serious look on his face. What only resulted in Jeonghan throwing his head back in laughter, seeing Seungcheol being so immature. "Don't make fun of me! You were the one who told me I had to make that promise!"
"I'm sorry!" Jeonghan excused while he wiped away the non existing tears that rolled over his cheeks before he interlaced his own pinky with Seungcheol's. "Pinky promise." He repeated Seungcheol's words, trying his hardest to remain serious.
"You're stupid." Seungcheol stuck out his tongue before averting his attention to the road again, driving away from where they were parked.
"I might be, but you are the one who makes pinky promises."
"Pinky promises are my thing okay! I can still drop you off somewhere else if you keep making fun of my pinky promise."
"No no! I'm coming with you." Jeonghan instantly defended himself, not wanting to go anywhere else than Seungcheol's place. Not because of the wealth he lived in, but to stay in the safety and warmth Seungcheol had to offer.
"Speaking about dropping you off somewhere. Is there anything you want to do today?" Jeonghan shook his head and shot a glance at Seungcheol, whose eyes remained on the road for their own safety. His dark eyebrows furrowed every now and then to make sure he kept focussing on everything around the black vehicle.
"I just want to stay at home." He simply answered, what seemed to satisfy Seungcheol. Both weren't really there type to go out whenever they had the chance to. Drinking coffee in a calm themed cafe or late night walks at the beach were the things they liked to do when they actually went out, as long as it wasn't too crowded it was fine by them.
"I like that." Seungcheol answered before a silence fell over the car again. One that brought comfort to the two boys.
Stores and houses flashed by while Jeonghan stared out of the car window. The sky was still a dusty shade of pink although the sun had fully came up. Clouds were barely to be seen and the sun shone on his brightest, making Jeonghan's eyes squint when it shone directly in his sight every now and then.
Dreaming away in the magical scenery gave him the feeling that today was going to be a special day. A day to remember.
Although he had no idea why he thought so.
But he was determined something beautiful was about to happen.
And when he checked Seungcheol next to him, he knew that the elder had something to do with it.
"Cheol?" Without taking his eyes off the road the eldest hummed in response. "You never told me anything about your life before you moved in here."
Seungcheol clearly swallowed, not expecting the sudden question. He knew he couldn't tell Jeonghan about it. Yet. Knowing that it could bring him in danger. Or worse, making Jeonghan turn against him. And that was the last thing he wanted to achieve.
"There's not much to tell you about." Seungcheol answered after a little moment of hesitation.
"I'm just curious about what happened that made you move in here. There must be something, right?" Seungcheol drove onto the big driveway straight to his own parking spot in front of the big porche. When he stopped the car he shot Jeonghan a serious look.
"It's not my time to tell you yet. Eventually I might explain." Jeonghan was clearly not satisfied with his answer. Why was he being so mysterious when he had already opened up about everything in his past and the current events that took place. "But-" "-it's really nothing you have to worry about Han. The stories about my past are really not as interesting as you think they might be. I just had to move away from where I lived to live here so I could be closer to school."
Jeonghan knew that this wasn't it. How could he live here with a host family all out of sudden and never talk a word about his parents? Something about his story wasn't right and even though Jeonghan knew he was lying straight up to his face, it reminded him that he had done the same to his own friends for over a month. So shrugging and accepting the fact that Seungcheol didn't want to speak about it was the best thing to do.
"I'm sorry Cheol."
Seungcheol grinned and ruffled Jeonghan's hair right on top of his head, making it one big mess in the process. "Stop being sorry for everything. There's nothing wrong, okay? I totally understand your question, but there's really nothing going on Han. okay?"
The gesture drew a wide smile onto Jeonghan's own face, eyeing Seungcheol like that was an even more magical sight than the scenery he saw on their drive here.
"I'm sorry. But I believe you if you say so."
"You said it again, silly!"
