Chapter 9

Pagod na pagod na ang katawan at ang utak ko pero hindi ko pa rin magawang makatulog. Maybe because he's here with me.

Ang kaniyang mga mata ay tila nakakakita sa dilim kung makatingin sa direksyon ko. And it makes me feel uncomfortable. Kahit isang tshirt at pajama ang suot ko pakiramdam ko ay tumatagos ang mga titig niya.

I wonder what he thinks of me. I wonder what runs through his head. I want to know how he decides for things. Gusto kong malaman kung bakit hindi niya ako magawang pagkatiwalaan, kung bakit tila siya may galit sa akin.

But I know I will never get to understand him. His principle is solid, he wants the truth and only but the truth. But now I realized, there are different versions of truth. The truth he wants to believe, the things that looks like the truth but are not, and the truth which is the truest.

We all believe not with the truth but on what we think is real.

Nakita kong umilaw ang laptop niya sa dilim. He's sitting infront of the round-table and he's been calling a lot of people earlier. Natigil lang saglit at ngayon ay ang laptop naman ang kaniyang binuksan.

I wonder if he still works even when he's home. Naalala ko ang sinabi ni Air, that Axl values his work so much as well as his time. I can see now that he's the foundation of the company, his passion to make it grow that big is like a wild fire that can't be put to stop with plain water. Kaya naiintindihan kong hindi siya makapapayag kung masisira ang lahat ng pinaghirapan niya.

He's young, but he handled the company well. Mas lumago at naging mas matunog pa nga ang GGC nang siya na ang humawak nito. I was in highschool back then.

"You should sleep."

Napaigtad ako nang magsalita ito. Mula sa liwanang ng kaniyang laptop ay mas nakikita ko na ang kaniyang mukha, at hindi naman kalayuan ang lamesa mula sa kama. It's probably just two meters away from me.

"Y-you're working? Kahit sa bahay?" Hindi ko na napigilang itanong.

Hindi ito sumagot.

Huminga ako ng malalim at pinanood siyang muli. Tanging ang ingay lamang ng keyboard ang naririnig ko sa buong kwarto.

"Aren't you hungry? You didn't eat the whole day."

Kinagat ko ang labi ko, "Uh..hindi naman, nag-breakfast naman ako."

"You're not hungry or you can't eat with me?" Nakita ko ang mumunting pagngisi nito at pagtataas ng kilay.

Oh I'm sure he's aware of how he can intimidate people, lalo na ang kababaihan. Nag-iwas ako ng tingin.

"H-hindi talaga ako nagugutom.."

"And you can't sleep as well because I'm here?"

I sighed, bilang pagsuko. Tinignan ko ito at naabutan ko ang bahagyang pagdila nito sa kaniyang labi bago pinatunog ang leeg.

Indeed, his presence is really intimidating. There's something in his aura that screams so much authority and demands attention. Even when he's just there in the dark, sitting and effortlessly doing things, I still find him consuming all the energy in this room. His vigor is just too much I don't think I will ever be able to handle it.

"W-what will happen to me tomorrow?" I asked.

He looked at me, "We'll see about that, if you cooperate."

"Do you really think I can do something like that?"

"Steal?" Nagtaas ito ng kilay.

Tila may nagbara sa lalamunan ko. Alam kong hindi niya na kasalanan kung bakit ganito siyang magsalita, but it still hurts me to hear it. Alam kong ganito na talaga siya, Aliyah warned me about how sharp his tongue is. And even when he don't mean to sound offending, he'll probably still end up sounding like it.
