WITHOUT YOU

Chapter 1

" Mom, I'm back from my run." I yell out to my mum who was in the kitchen. " Hey, hunny" she said as I walk into the kitchen and planted a kiss on her cheeks.  She was preparing pancakes,  eggs and bacon for breakfast.  I helped her by getting out the plates and pouring the orange juice into a jar.

" So... have you decided on what you'd be wearing for the celebration this weekend?" She asked as she served me some bacon and eggs.  I nearly choke on my orange juice,  " Is that this weekend?" I asked, feigning surprise. My mum was looking forward to this celebration because other packs would be attending and it would be my chance to find my ' mate' . " Diane, you know that it's this weekend. I want you to look your best in case your mate's gonna be there. Now we're gonna go shopping when you come back from school to help you find the perfect dress." She said as I finished my breakfast.

" Alright mom. Now I gotta go get ready for school." I said and left for my room. " My parents were the Alpha and Luna of the Cresent Moon Pack. I lived in a huge Pack house with my  family, the Beta and Gamma of the pack and some important pack members.  The rest of the pack lived among the humans in the town. My room is on the forth floor of the park house. I took the elevator that my mom forced my dad to install because she said taking the stairs is exhausting.

We live in a small town called Belleview meaning 'beautiful view'.It got it's name from the fact that it's on a mountain top surrounded by a beautiful forest.I attend West High School, the only school in a ten mile radius. I took my shower, put on some warm clothes and headed down for school.  Since I turned sixteen , daddy got me a car as my present. It was a silver coloured Rolls-Royce.

I got into my car and drove off to school and in 20 minutes I was pulling into the school's parking lot. I parked the car, grab my bag and head into the school building. West High School was a not-so-big school but had the comfort of a fancy high school. I walk over to my locker and meet Jace leaning on my locker with headphones in his ears. "Well this is a surprise" he said with a smirk on his face. I roll my eyes at him, "oh please. Now would you move over so I can access my locker", I said holding my waist. "Oooh someone's feisty today", he said poking my shoulder. "Let me guess ,  does it have to do with the upcoming celebration?"he added raising one eye brow.

"Ughh! My mom won't stop talking about how I might find my mate. I mean, why can't people understand that I don't want a mate. I want to fall in love on my own and don't want  even the  Moon Goddess to decide who I spend my life with", I said while picking some binders from my locker and slamming it shut."Rejection is always an option", Jace told me as we walked to class."Really Jace? No matter how much I don't want to find my mate, I can't reject him. I know what rejection can do to a mate. I'm not that heartless for crying out loud" I said before we entered our class room.

Jace is my best friend. He is a wolf like me and is also a future beta to my brother Flynn when he succeeds my dad and becomes Alpha. We settle in class and our teacher walks in and begins homeroom.  So far it's just another normal school day. Soon it's time for lunch and I head to the cafeteria to have lunch with my friends.

" Hey guys" I said as I plop down by Mason at our table. Our pack has lunch together everyday.  We've actually come to be known as the hype teens of our school since we hold ourselves up high. We're all wolves except for Abigail. She's Mason's girlfriend/mate.  She's a preety blonde like me but has hazel coloured eyes and the preetiest smile ever which shows off her dimples.

" Hi D. How are you?" Karai asks as she twirls some spaghetti on her fork. "Are you excited about the ceremony? Maybe you might even find your mate there" Abigail asked with so much enthusiasm.  " Yeah" I said trying to sound excited to meet her enthusiasm as I stabbed a meatball on my plate.
