I woke up to a loud banging noise on the front door.
The entire house was disturbed, Kennedy, Scarlett, Max, Kevin, and I were all shocked when a police officer was outside the door.
"Hello, Mr. and Mr. Hart. I am here to see if there is an Ella Kaye in this residence. She has been a missing person as of midnight yesterday," The officer handed Max the documents which had a photo of me, Kevin looked over Max's shoulder to see the documents.
"Oh, she was staying with us because of a personal home situation," Keven smiled at the officer.
"If you wouldn't mind could I please talk to Ella for a moment?" Asked the officer.
I quickly walked down the stairs towards the officer. My hair was messy from sleep and my makeup was pretty wrecked, I still felt bad about sleeping in it.
"Why did you run away from home Ella?"
I was nervous, I took a deep breath then spoke, "Well, we had gotten into an argument about my soulmate here," I gestured to Kennedy, "And they locked me in my room when I told them she was my soulmate..." I rubbed the back of my neck, this was private, extremely personal and I hadn't really dealt with how I felt about all of this.
"Alright Ella, I'm going to let you stay in this house, only because I know that Mr. and Mr. Hart are very good men, I'm sure whatever happened between your parents is personal and I won't make you say anything else. I will not force you to go back home, but I need to make sure that you are still going to be attending classes, can you do that?"
I nodded, "I brought almost all my stuff with me when I left my house,"
"That's good," The officer smiled, "Here give me your number so I can call you if anything happens with your parents," I punched my number into his phone.
"Alright, thank you all for your cooperation, I will get this back to your legal gardens, and don't worry I will not tell them where you are," The officer smiled as he left.
"That was wack," Scarlet said.
"Ella are you okay?" Kennedy asked.
"Yeah, I'm going to be just fine, don't worry," I smiled a genuine smile and we went about the rest of our morning.
Kennedy and I both went upstairs after the incident.
"Are you sure you are ok?" Kennedy asked me once we had gotten upstairs.
"I'm just... weirded out...? I think... I feel like if my parents really cared about me they would have looked around town themselves, or noticed I was missing before midnight yesterday!" I was not sad about it, I knew they mostly didn't care about me. My dad did but my mom could care less about what happened to me.
She knew I was the only thing keeping her and dad together...
Dad met his soulmate a few months ago, although dad is moms soulmate, mom is not dads... Her name is Leah, and she's actually a very nice person. Part of the reason we moved was to get dad far away from her. Mom pretended that the only reason we moved was for me to meet my soulmate, but dad and I both knew she was trying to get him away from Leah.
Leah is really nice, she's much sweeter than mom is and I wish she was my mom in all honesty.
"Hey..." Kennedy took my hand, "Are you sure?"
"Yeah," I reassured her again.
"Well if you are up for it, I have a game tonight," Kennedy paused.
She looked nervous...
"Of course I will come!" I smiled softly.
"Great, I'm just going to go get ready see you in a few," She waved as she left me alone in her room.
