After everything that happened, I was so confused. I didn't even know what I was supposed to do with all this new information. How did mom even fake that? Maybe, they just hooked up or something and had me, so they got married. I'm not sure.
Am I even supposed to be alive?
All I know now is I needed more answers from my dad.
We walked home in silence, no one talked.
Kennedy knew something was wrong, I didn't know if she knew what.
When we got back to my dad's, I shoved the papers to him and stood next to Kennedy not knowing what to say.
"Thank you, princess! I really appreciate it."
"Mmhm," Was all I answered with.
"She told you didn't you? That she faked it?" My dad asked.
I met his eyes, mine slowly watering.
"Oh, honey," He opened up his arms and held me as I cried on my father's shoulder.
"Let me explain," The group sat down, all in a circle, as Leah brought us all hot chocolate.
"It was just a college hook up, that was all it was supposed to be, so.. when she contacted me and told me she was pregnant, I couldn't just abandon her.. But I knew our parents would be so disappointed if we weren't soulmates.. so we both faked it.." He paused.
"We got married, we stayed together because of you, and if I am being completely honest, I don't think your mother has a soulmate, she's too much of a narcissist..." My dad stopped after that.
I felt so abandoned... I wasn't meant to be or to even exist.
Kennedy hugged me from behind holding me close against her body. I had been sitting in her lap for extra comfort. My old tears still pricking the corner of my eyes; my nose still a little runny.
"You're okay baby," She whispered in my ear, holding me even tighter. I melted into her touch instantly.
