Felix was never that happy before that he actually brought his keys with him. That's a surprise tool that he could use very well today.

So he hastily opened the door and tried to sprint up the stairs but he was directly stopped right when he clicked the door open.

„Mooooommmm, Felix is back home!"
Melissa ran towards her brother and hugged him . Felix hugged the little traitor back. He couldn't really be mad at that cute little bean in his arms.

After a while he saw his mother walking into the hallway with a worried expression on her face. The guilt began eating him up immediately. "I'm glad that you're back.", she smiled warm at his son but still a frown on her face.

Felix just stood there and didn't move an inch.
"Melissa, do you want to go upstairs and ask your sister to play something with you? I'm sure she has time." The little girl smiled widely, nodded and ran upstairs.

Now it was only Felix and his mother.
"I just made coffee, do you want some?"
Felix smiled gratefully and followed her into the kitchen where he sat down at the counter .
He felt very nervous and drew little circles with his fingers on the cup as soon as his mother placed it in front of him.

There was a second of silence before his mother broke the silence. "Felix, I'm not gonna scold you, so you can look at me."
Her voice was warm and embracing. It didn't even gave one hint that she could be mad.
Felix smiled to himself, he was really grateful for his mom. She was always so supportive and wasn't that strict with him. She thought that her child's should make experiences in their life's, they would teach them enough.

When Felix looked up his mother continued. "I don't know where you were and I'm not even gonna ask you. I was just worried that you weren't in your room this morning. You're rarely going out, so I was even surprised when you were going to meet some friends earlier the week."

That made sense. Back in Australia Felix would practically come home from school and immediately lock himself into his room. He would casually skip many meals and whenever his mother would ask him if he wanted to go to the store with her or his sister, he would decline, saying he had to do his homework.

He didn't even thought that he would find friends at all in his life.

"You're old enough to do what you want and I trust you to not do anything stupid, Felix." her facial expression was very serious but yet so soft. "But when you're leaving for such a long time and especially over night please inform me or your father okay? You don't have to tell me where you're going but I care for you."

Felix gave her a warm smile which she returned. He was honestly so thankful but at the same time he felt guilty. "I'm so sorry for that. I didn't even plan to leave the house, but you were all asleep and I didn't want to wake you up."

"It's okay, I believe you."

Felix had finished his coffee a long time ago and was sitting in his room since hours now. He was bored and didn't know what he could do. He could've texted his friends but he didn't want to explain anything or lie at them.

When his gaze fell onto the few still full boxes  next to his bed he sighed but decided that this would be the most useful thing to do.

He was currently unboxing a box with random stuff in it. It couldn't be categorized so he had just stuffed anything in it. He grabbed some books he started reading a long time ago but never continued. He placed them on a shelve and continued.

His eyes eventually fell on a small metallic box.
His body immediately tensed on the thought of  its content. He knew way too well what was inside and began to question why he even took it with him. It was one part of his past. Something he wanted to leave behind. He got reminded on that specific thing everyday anyways but this metallic box gave him the power to let it continue.
Felix grabbed it with an horrific look on his face and threw it somewhere into his closet. He didn't even want to be reminded there the box was situated.
