twenty-four

After Changbin left the other day Felix just went straight in his bed, because he was so tired of the day, what let him to not hearing his alarm the next morning and falling out of the bed upon seeing the time on his night stand.

"Shit! Shit! Shit!" he muttered to himself while he picked some clothes up from the floor and threw them quickly on and rushed out of the house, almost dripping over the stairs.

It was 7:54. School started at 8:00 and he needed around ten minutes or even fifteen to get there. Meaning that his chances of being too late and scolded by the teacher were way too high. And with that he would also just drag much unwanted attention to himself.

Realizing that, he just sighed and picked up his pace while he was running down the streets.

It was also a bit colder this day and the fact that he left his jacket while being in a hurry only made him shiver, but he wasn't really freezing since adrenaline rushed through his body from the running.

He was running for around 4 minutes straight till he stopped to lean on a wall to catch his breath. He took short incomes of air as he heard his phone vibrating in his pocket.

"Huh?" He wasn't used to getting called this early. But Felix nonetheless fumbled it out of his pocket and answered it without bothering to look at the name before. That's also why he was surprised to hear a voice he identified as Hyunjin.

"Is this Felix?"

"Uhm...yes"

"Okay good, it's Hyunjin here. Chan is driving beside me so it's me calling you. We're in the same class so could you just tell the teacher that Changbin and me are coming later. Someone decided to not be on time today..."
the boy explained tiredly and there could be noises from someone arguing being heard in the background. From what Felix assumed it was Changbin and Minho but that didn't even matter right now.

"Uhm...ehm...I won't make it on time either, sorry" felix answered while he began to slowly begin to walk again, he couldn't waste more time.

"Oh...bye then." Hyunjin answered surprised and probably was about to hang up but there could be heard a faint voice beside him and then the latter groaning.
"Where are you right now?"

"Huh?" Felix blinked in surprise as he continued walking and began jogging a bit.

"Chan said we're picking you up so I guess we're picking you up. Hurry up."

Hyunjin's voice was rather unfriendly so normally Felix would have been intimidated or just put the request down but he also figured that it would be more uncomplicated if he just cooperated with the boy.

He locked around him to figure out where he was. He stood near a street at a crossway. "Uhm... I'm near this one park. The one that's... uhm near school. There is a crossway and—"

"Yeah yeah whatever we'll be there" with that he hung up but the younger could clearly hear a faint "don't be so rude to him" in the background and he didn't know how to feel
about the fact that this was Changbin's voice.

In something that felt like less then a minute he already saw a familiar car pulling up to him and someone opening the door from inside.

Felix didn't waste any time and made it in the mini van, so they wouldn't be more late than necessary thanks to him.
"Thank...you...Chan"

"No problem there mate" Chan smiled as he looked behind to the backseats.

As he looked beside him he noticed Changbin right next to him and then Minho. Hyunjin was sitting in the front. He gave the older a small smile and he returned it which made Felix very surprised at first. But as fast as the smile was there it was gone again and his eyes stared off into nothing .
