When you opened your eyes, you knew you hadn't been out long as your father and ex-boyfriend looked down at you.

You realized that your head rested on something and you tilted you neck to see Jimin sitting with your head in his lap. He must've prevented you from hitting your head.

You would've expected his muscles to be tense or tight-lipped expression, but rather his looked down on you. While mostly void of too much expression, you caught the looks of worry as they made passes over your face.

Your hair and clothes felt sweaty and you were certain that you no longer looked presentable for the gala.

"Y/N?" your father asked, a slight quiver in his voice.

"Y-Yes?" your vision wasn't fully back yet, still going in and out.

Water was shoved into your hand and Jimin placed a hand on your back to help you sit up. You sipped the water as you heard still ran in circles, exhausting itself.

"Do we need to call an ambulance?"

"No," you said. "I'm fine. Just let me clean up and I'll be all right."

You tried not look at Jiseok as you stood up on shaky legs and walked towards the bathroom. Jimin followed you in, not caring that it was a women's bathroom. He locked the door behind him.

"There's no way you're going back out there," he said. "I'm taking you home and we can watch from there."

You reached into your purse and pulled out your emergency makeup wipe and began removing it all. The sweat had destroyed it and you would need to redo it as quickly as you could.

"I just have to sit through it, Jimin. It's not a big deal. I won't faint again."

Just as you said that, you gripped the edge of the sink to keep yourself steady. This wasn't the first time you had fainted from such a shock. Every since that day two years ago, you were prone to fainting spells. Whenever you became panicked or shocked, you'd fall to the ground.

Most of the time you had a little warning, allowing yourself time to get out of the situation and calm yourself down. But, that was before Jiseok came into your life.

"It was cause of him, wasn't it?" There was malice in Jimin's voice and you knew how he felt about Jiseok. It was how everyone felt about Jiseok. The most loved boy in school.

You nodded, not looking at him as you applied moisturizer and foundation. Blending it all together, you feel that feeling in the pit of your stomach. The one you got when Jimin was holding back his words, but you knew they would spill out anyway.

"It's quite bold of you to act this way when you tried to ruin his life."

And there it was. You took the brush away from your eyes for a moment to roll your eyes. Pulling out your eyelash curler, you clamped them into a perfect curl before applying mascara.

"There's two sides to every story, pretty boy." You didn't care to defend yourself. It wasn't like you faked fainting. "Now, do your job and stand outside. I'm feeling better."

This time Jimin rolled his eyes while he exited the bathroom and stood outside. He listened closely, not entirely believing that you weren't going to pass out and hit your head on the sink.

"Hey man," Jiseok said. "She coming or not?"

Jimin nodded. "I think she's fine. She was almost done when I came out" His eyes grazed over the other man, noticing that he'd grown a little taller since they'd last seen each other, and he'd put on muscle, filling out his suit jacket. "How have you been?"

"Good," he said. "It was nice going to the US for school. A place where no one knows me. It was nice to get away from all the politics here, you know?"

Jimin nodded. "I think we'd all like that sometimes." He glanced back towards the bathroom door. "It's just sad you were forced to."

Jiseok shrugged. "Hey, I'm over it, man." He reached up and clapped his hand against Jimin's shoulder. "It starts in ten minutes. Make sure she's ready."

"Colonel Lee," one of the journalists began. Your father had just finished his speech. "Did the military or your regimen specifically do anything to pay back the families of the civilians killed?"

"Not that I'm aware of. Funeral expenses were fully covered."

You squirmed in your seat. It was only the first question and you could already see your father's fingers fidgeting, wanting to loosen his collar.

Another journalist stood up when they were acknowledged. "Why was the public not immediately informed of this tragedy? And, why did you take direct action to make sure they were not?"

"Well, you see," you father stumbled, pausing for thought. "I was protecting one of my men who suffered a mental break. He had a family who did and does not deserve the scrutiny."

"What about the civilians and their families? Who was protecting them?"

You looked over at Jiseok who stood in the background. He should be stepping in to give your father guidance on these questions, he should've prepared him better beforehand.

"What in the hell was that Jiseok?" you asked. You cornered your ex-boyfriend after the conference. "Listen, I think we both know my dad did a shitty thing and deserves the bad press. But you're his publicist, you're supposed to make sure he doesn't look like a bumbling idiot on international TV."

Jiseok scoffed. "Only because it reflects badly on you?"

"Did I mention myself at all?"

"Didn't have to, sweetness. I know that's all you care about."

Jimin stood around the corner. You likely thought that you'd managed to shrug him off, but Jimin tailed you, furrowing his brow as he listened to the two of you argue.

"I'm telling you not to sabotage my my dad and this situation."

"Or what? You'll tell on me?"

You rolled your eyes. "Nobody would believe me even if I did. You made sure of that. But, I'll make your life Hell one way or another."

"Doesn't matter," Jiseok said. He reached up and grabbed hold of your chin with his hand. "There's nothing you can do to touch me now. And your entire family is at my mercy, sweetness. So, you better be a good girl and not get in my way."

Jimin's stomach turned over like an old car engine as it registered the tone of Jiseok's voice. He turned the corner and saw the other man's hand holding your chin roughly.

"Uh, what's going on here?"

Jiseok made eye contact with Jimin and pulled his hand away. You still caught his glare as he walked out of the room, leaving you breathless, but in the worst kinda way.

"You heard it all, didn't you?" you asked.

Jimin nodded as he placed his hands on your shoulders and used one his hands to carefully examine where Jiseok had gripped your chin.

"What the fuck happened between the two of you?" He thought he knew everything. That you had attempted to destroy Jiseok's reputation after you broke up at the infamous senior year party. How he lost his full ride to the secret service academy because of you.

But the look in your eyes told him that you lost so much more.
