I just can't guys. I cannot.

Let's talk about POV switching on Wattpad. I'm probably gonna be biased as heck anyway but I don't really care. It's my rant book so whatever.

Before Wattpad I didn't really have a problem with books switching POV. It wasn't really my cup of tea, but I could sit through a book that did it. Personally, I only have only ever written one story that switches POV and that's because the main characters think drastically different and the story deals with race relations and other things that are severely important.

But like, is it just me that has noticed that a lot of the stories on this site don't really need to switch POV????? Like, bruh, I'm gonna call the main characters letters. So, character 1 is A, character 2 is B etc.

I was reading this romance story and A is the "main character", well the next chapter is told by B however it's literally the same thing as chapter one with A. Okay sure chapter two revealed that B was a supernatural character, but is that not something we could have found out through A a little while into the story? Like why do authors on this site have to be so upfront all the time??? Instead of giving everything away through POV switches, can't we figure out things from one sole main character one step at a time over the course of a, gee idk, STORY???

It's like, a lot of the POV switches on this site are just unnecessary. It could have been told through one single character if the author had an ounce of patience. I think it adds suspense to have one character find out everything themselves. There's no more fun when the reader is told everything by countless switching around.

Ugh, I don't know, it's just something that has always bothered me on this site.
