Guys, I can't tell you how much I hate this.
I'm not a big "Author's Note" person. If you read my stories you'll know that I hardly put any author's notes anywhere. TIB/PftT has a lot only because some people aren't comfortable with the n-word so I put warnings in it.
To be completely honest, I have to like your story a whole bunch for me to care enough to read your ANs. Also, I don't care if people read mine in all honesty. It's something that's a choice. Usually the only time I read them is when I have a question and I read it to make sure I won't sound annoying if I ask the author a question they answered in their AN.
On that note, why do Authors feel the need to interrupt their story with notes? The only time it bothers me is when it's done in a fictional story. I don't really care about Non-fiction because it's more than likely a side remark about the subject. But in fiction?? In the middle of the battle????:
--------------
Terok swung his blade with force, aiming for Vellor's arm. When the metal pierced his flesh, Vellor was quick to scream. Terok let out a crazed laugh as Vellor fell in defeat.
"Now you know how it feels to lose an arm." Terok mocked, pushing the blade deeper, cutting into Vellor like butter. (A/N: Mmm i me want butter and bread rite nao x3).
Vellor trembled, unable to speak as the pain clutched at his throat.
--------------
Who tf cares if you want butter and bread right then??? And sometimes it seems just as stratigic as I made mine, like they purposefully wrote something a certain way just so they could put their two cents in during the middle of the scene. Whhyyyyyyyy do people do that? What's it's purose?? You couldn't wait until the end of the chapter to remark about how writing that grotesque scene made you hungry you little devil child??
Ugh.
