Colby's POV

When I walked into the living room my eyes scanned the room, seeing they were all watching a movie. Kat was bouncing Mia on the couch as I finally met Cora's eyes causing me to smile. She got up and made her way over to me, stumbling slightly. "Hey baby girl." I said quietly and wrapped my arms tightly around her. She mumbled something incoherent and melted into my body. She must have been absolutely exhausted,

"how are you feeling?" I asked and pulled back so I could cup her face, "tired, how are you?" She said quietly and leaned into my hand. "I'm good, the guys are at the house while they fix the damage that was made, are you okay if we wait here for them to finish? It's pretty loud." I said and brushed her hair back as she nodded slowly. "Yeah, I might try to nap here." Her voice alone was fatigued sending a shot of pain through my chest. I hated seeing her so miserable, I smiled and pulled her in for a tender kiss.

I grabbed her hand and led her to the couch, "there's my sweet angel." I cooed and grabbed Mia from Kat. I was only away from her for a couple days but god I missed her much. She waved her arms up at me as I cradled her. "You miss me princess?" I asked then leaned down and kissed her head as I sat down on the couch next to Cora. As soon as I sat down she leaned into me and rested her head on my shoulder. I looked over and smiled softly at her as she closed her eyes.

"So Colby, how was the trip?" Tara asked as they turned the volume down on the movie they were watching, "it was good, I want to go back there some day but I wanna bring my girls with me." I said and looked down at Mia.

"God I feel painfully single whenever you two are together." Reggie said and Cassie hit his arm, "you're not even single you idiot!" She said causing everyone to laugh. "I know that but just look at them!" Reggie exclaimed and gestured to us. I chuckled and looked over to see that Cora was out cold. I smiled and leaned back into the couch, wrapping one arm around her, letting her head rest on my chest as I held Mia against my other shoulder.

"So when are you guys getting married?" Aryia asked which sent warmth through my chest. Even the thought of marrying her made me the happiest guy alive. "Not sure, we are going to start planning it soon though." I said quietly, trying not to wake her. "You excited?" Kevin asked and I tried not to blush, "yeah..I am.." I said with the biggest grin as all the girls gushed over how I reacted.

I eventually got a text from Sam saying that everything was fixed and that all of the workers were gone. Cora was still sleeping soundly on my chest and even Mia had fallen asleep on my shoulder. I sighed, not wanting to wake either of them but I also didn't want Cora's back to hurt from sleeping like how she was.

I leaned down and placed a kiss on Cora's head, "baby girl." I said quietly and shook her gently with my shoulder, she groaned and opened her eyes before bolting up quickly, "Is Mia okay??" She exclaimed and looked around frantically. "She's okay love, she's okay. We are gonna go home now." I said and rubbed her back as she recovered from the shock of being scared awake. "Oh..okay." She said quietly then stood up. "Come on girls, grab your stuff." I said and looked at Kat Devyn and Tara. "Jesus you're such a dad." Tara said and got up as I stuck my tongue out at her.

"Go ahead to the car, I'll grab your stuff." I said to Cora and kissed her head before gently pushing her towards the door. She nodded and trudged away as I started collecting hers and Mia's things.

Kat came out of the spare bedroom first, "hey Kat, I have to talk to you." I said grabbing her attention before she went to the car, "what's up Colby?" She asked and came over. "Can you watch Mia tonight? I want to treat Cora to a date night." I said and Kat smiled, "yeah! What are planning on doing?" She asked and bounced happily, "I think I'm gonna set up an at home restaurant in the backyard, with fairy lights. I want her to know how much I love her, but I know she won't want to leave Mia. She's been so strong she deserves a night of relaxation." I said and watched her as she smiled, "I agree. Are the guys gonna help you? Sammy would be such a cute waiter." She said and I laughed, "yeah I talked to them about it. They are already setting it up." I said and pulled Cora's bag onto my shoulder. Mia slightly fussed showing me she was now awake.

"Good morning sweetheart." I said quietly and kissed the side of her head as she leaned it onto my shoulder. We walked to the car and I strapped her into the car seat. When I got in the car I looked over to see that Cora was staring off into space. "Baby." I said and put my hand over hers, causing her to flinch. "Sorry" she whispered and looked up at me, "you okay?" I asked and she nodded slowly, then looked forwards again as the girls got in the car. It was a short drive so Tara just sat on Devyn's lap.

When we got home the girls went inside as Cora unbuckled Mia from her car seat. "She needs to eat." She mumbled and started to carry Mia inside. I followed behind her and up the stairs, I watched her cautiously as she hesitated to go into the nursery. The door was fixed and we cleaned up all the baby powder that was on the ground. I wondered how she managed to get the gun from them but I would assume baby powder was involved.

"It's okay baby girl. It's over now." I said quietly and pulled her into me. I held her as her legs buckled from underneath her as she sobbed, "woah, hey it's okay." I said and caught her, lowering her to the ground. "I was so scared." She whispered into my shoulder as she held Mia tighter to her body. "I know baby girl, I know. It's okay it's over now...I'm here. Nobody is going to hurt you." I said and just held her as she sobbed. I hated seeing her like this, but between being exhausted and traumatized I couldn't exactly blame her for it. She was so strong, but she can only take so much before she breaks.

I'm not sure how long we stayed like that but Mia eventually started crying. She was definitely hungry, "I'm sorry." Cora whispered as I lifted her up off the floor, "don't apologize, I'm here for you. Let's get Mia fed and you to bed, yeah?" I asked and she nodded.

As soon as Mia was fed I grabbed her from Cora and placed her in the crib. Cora went to stand up but her legs gave out almost immediately, "I've got you baby girl." I said and lifted her up, then carried her to our room. She was basically asleep by the time I got to the bed.

"Goodnight baby, I love you." I said then kissed her head as I pulled the covers onto her already sleeping body.
