I was running out of time, I had to make a decision quickly or I'll lose them both. But how can I choose between who lives and who dies, when both of these women have had such a huge impact on my life? I wouldn't be able to live with myself if anything happened to either of them because of me, but now I might just have to.
That was when I heard it, a voice yelling at the top of their lungs. The voice I grew up hearing insults from since I had first arrived at the Salvatore School, Lizzie Saltzman.
"GET THESE CHAINS OFF OF ME! YOU PSYCHOTIC BIO MOM KILLING FREAK!"
It had come from the Salvatore Crypt, the exact opposite from where Josie was being held captive by The Necromancer. He had raised Jo to distract the twins so that Kai could escape and kill Hope, but Kai had plans of his own. The Necromancer, oblivious to Kai's betrayal, had stuck to his plan and used Jo to lure Josie away from the Salvatore School far enough away so that Hope wouldn't come and save the day like she always did. Kai decided to instead get to know his niece for a bit, while playing a little mind game with Hope before he would eventually kill her as well. But ultimately killing the twins and Hope isn't what he wanted, he had hoped reeking enough chaos would cause Alaric to ask Bonnie for help and that he'd see her again. He never did get over the Bennett witch.
Hope had a decision to make, save Josie the twin who had made Hope realize she was into girls as well as guys and who she had crushed on for two years when she was 12 or save Lizzie the twin who she consistently bickered with everyday but had secretly been extremely attracted to last year.
Come on Hope! You have to choose Josie or Lizzie?.. Josie or Lizzie? I need to choose quickly or I'll lose them both, and if I were to lose them both I..
I wouldn't be able to survive.
Hope looked back and forth from where each twin was being held.
"I CAN'T!" Hope yelled to herself in the woods frustrated putting her hands on her head and falling to her knees, no longer able to hold herself up
I can't lose either of them. Why couldn't they just take me?
"KAI! I know you can hear me! Leave them! Please!... Just.. Take me instead! Just let them go!"
"Please!" I yelled letting my tears fall
"I can't lose them.." I sobbed quietly
"Hope?" A voice somewhere off into the distance said. "Hope? What's wrong? Hey.." the voice went again. "Wake up."
Hope jumped awake with a gasp, suddenly she wasn't sobbing on the floor of the woods begging for the lives of the Saltzman twins, she was in her bed back at the Salvatore School with Landon laying right beside her staring at her worriedly.
It was just a dream. I let out a breath I didn't even know I was holding in and suddenly I felt like I could breathe again.
Ever since Hope had found the ascendant to the prison world that Kai was locked in and confronted Dr Saltzman about it, he had no choice but to tell Hope about the merge and all about the twins' evil uncle Kai but not without swearing her to secrecy, Hope had been having all different kinds of nightmares involving the twins' deaths.
"Are you okay? You must've had a pretty bad nightmare." Landon said
"Yea.. it was definitely a nightmare. You'd think I'd get used to those right?" I said laughing it off, feeling my heartbeat still struggling to go back to its normal pace.
"Well I should go back to my room and get ready Dr. Saltzman has an announcement." He said kissing Hope softly before proceeding to walk out the door.
"See you there" Hope said as he shut the door.
Hope got up off her bed and walked into her bathroom to get ready for the already dreadful day.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Walking down the halls of the Salvatore School every conversation stopped whenever Hope got close enough to hear. She wasn't an outcast, but she didn't fit in either. Hope spent most of her time either with Dr. Saltzman, Landon or by herself. She didn't mind, she was used to it.
Two years ago when Klaus made his ultimate sacrifice so that his daughter can grow up, was also when the school finally learned that Hope Marshall was actually Hope Mikaelson. Since then many rumors started circulating around the school about Hope and her family. They weren't afraid of her, but they were wary, and so was she.
Hope hadn't yet activated her vampire side so she still hadn't reached her full potential, and she preferred it that way. Truth was she was always afraid of her power.
Hope passed the Saltzman twins in the hallway and avoided all eye contact but that still didn't stop Lizzie from taking a dig at her before the assembly.
"Oh look who decided to come out of her room long enough to socialize with the outside world. I'm Lizzie in case you forgot with all the ass kissing you do with my dad, tell me what do you two even talk about that he can't say to us?" Lizzie said crossing her arms looking at Hope expectantly.
"Lizzie let's just go" Josie said trying to stop the bickering before it starts
"Don't you want to know what dad's keeping from us Jo?" Lizzie replied
"Not from her, if dad hasn't told us something it's probably for a good reason so we should just wait until he's ready."
"If you two are done, I really need to get going." Hope said walking away from the twins who've been on her mind constantly for the past 6 years
"Whatever Mikaelson it probably wasn't even interesting!" Lizzie yelled from where she was still standing with Josie watching Hope's retreating back.
