A Love Split in Three

Chapter 20

After Lizzie composed herself, from what had just happened between her and Hope, she went and did what she was originally supposed to do, find Josie and Penelope. She found them making out against a wall inside the old mill, gagging she told them to collect their hormones and that the witches were up next.

Now all three of them along with the rest of the witches are backstage getting ready for their performance. "All right, witches, grab a cane. I've got some new choreography." Lizzie said as she stepped out of a curtain holding canes in her hand as she handed them out

"Thank god. I can't believe I actually wanted to sing." Josie said now that her splurge of confidence was finally gone

I think someone might have slipped happy pills in my milkshake or something, Josie thought to herself

"Oh, you're still singing." Lizzie said smiling at her twin

"What?"

"Splurge of confidence or not, you did want to sing so.. You really want to share the spotlight with me, Josie Saltzman? The spotlight is officially yours." Lizzie said smiling

After the confrontation with Hope, Lizzie decided that she didn't want to lose anymore people in her life so she was going to do whatever she could to make them happy, make them stay. Although she never really had Hope in the first place.

Josie slowly stepped up on the dim lit stage, she could hear the crowd chatter amongst themselves

To say she was nervous was an understatement.

As Josie stepped closer to the mic at the end of the stage, the piano started to play. Josie's eyes automatically locked with Hope's who was sitting in the second row smiling at Josie, and she instantly relaxed.

Hope always had that effect on Josie, even before the party, she would just give Josie a reassuring smile and she felt like she could conquer the entire world. That's one of the reasons why Josie had a crush on her when she was 12, and probably why Josie felt her stomach flutter at that smile that only Hope would give her.

The spotlight was now on Josie, as she held the mic in her hand and looked around the entire room filled with students from the Salvatore school, who were all looking right back at her. Josie looked back at Hope and began to sing.

Hope watched Josie in amazement as she sang, and the witches danced around her with their canes in the new choreography that Lizzie had made last minute. The crowd cheered and whistled all throughout the performance, loving the change.

As Josie and the rest of the witches finished their performance, the entire room erupted with clapping, cheering and whistling. Hope stood and clapped smiling widely, she was proud of Josie and Penelope and looked directly at the two as she smiled, still clapping unknowing that Lizzie was watching her as she completely ignored her.

Was it possible for a heart to break more than once?
