Caroline helped Josie with her after as Lizzie did the finishing touches on her makeup, "You two look absolutely beautiful." Caroline said as she half braided Josie's hair

"You're just saying that because you're our mom." Lizzie said smiling

"Well, even if I was a complete stranger you'd still look beautiful girls."

"Thank you, Mom." Josie said smiling up at her as she finished

Caroline smiled at her daughter, "I'm going to go make sure everything is all set for your entrances." She said put her a loving hand on Josie's shoulder before walking up to Lizzie to do the same as she walked out the door

Lizzie got up from her vanity and walked towards her bed sitting down until she felt something crumble underneath, "What the?" Lizzie said standing up to see what she sat on

It was a letter, written on the envelope was one word, Hope. Next to the letter was a small white box.

Lizzie slowly picked up the letter, looking at Josie who was looking back at her.

"Is it from the someone you shared a moment with?" Josie asked

"Yea, but it doesn't matter." Lizzie said picking up the box as well and walking up to her dresser and placing it in the second drawer, under her blouses

"What makes you think it won't work out with him?" Josie asked

Lizzie swallowed at the him, "Because, I don't want it to."

"Why wouldn't you want a relationship to work with someone that you clearly like, a lot?" Josie asked confused

"Because! It's complicated, okay!" Lizzie yelled frustratedly

Lizzie immediately felt bad for snapping at Josie, "Sorry, I just can't deal with this right now. I'm going down to the party, you coming?"

"Yea.. in a minute I just need to put my heels on, I'll meet you there okay?"

"Okay." Lizzie said walking out of their room

Josie pulled out a letter she hid under her pillow, written on the envelope was Hope. Josie opened up the letter to read it..

I'm sorry for the lack of communication we've had throughout the years, I know that it was my fault. I was the one that never attempted to forge a friendship between us and I didn't exactly make it easy for you to approach me either. Truth is for a long time, I was scared to get close to anyone. But then Landon helped me through that and he helped me realize that I don't ruin everyone I get close to and for a long time I let myself believe I did. I realized that life is.. so so short and that if you take things and.. people for granted you'll regret it for the rest of your life. I don't want to regret anything, I want to make the most of my life starting with forming a friendship with you.. Hopefully. Happy Birthday Josie, I hope that all your birthday wishes come true and I hope that we can try again.

Sincerely, Hope.

Josie smiled to herself as she finished reading the letter, before picking up the envelope looking inside to find a tiny white baggy with a silver necklace. Josie opened the baggy as she pulled the necklace out admiring it in her palm before she put it on with a small smile playing on her lips.

Knock Knock, "Hey, Jojo. Need an escort?" Penelope asked standing by the doorframe

"Sure do you know anyone who's heart isn't made of stone?" Josie asked turning to Penelope

"Look, I am sorry about earlier. I saw a chance to insult Lizzie and uh, I shot my shot." Penelope said with a small chuckle

"Why can't you just ease up on her?" Josie asked walking towards Penelope
