"We're going on a road trip." Dr. Saltzman said to Lizzie, Josie and Hope who were sitting on the couch across from him.
"Huh?"
"Where?"
"Why?"
Lizzie, Josie, and Hope asked at the same exact time
"Caroline will stay here to supervise the students, while us four go to Maple Hollows for spring break."
"Why is she coming?" Lizzie asked
"Lizzie!" Josie whisper yelled at her twin
"No, she's right. Why am I coming?" Hope asked Dr. Saltzman
"Because Hope, I promised your family I would look out for you and I don't like the idea of you staying here alone." Alaric said
"Look Dr. Saltzman I appreciate being your charity case, really, but I wouldn't be alone. I would be with Penelope and Rafael." Hope said with a tight-lipped smile
"You're not our charity case, Hope." Dr. Saltzman said seriously
"And you're coming with us." He added

"I brought snacks" Hope said as she pulled her backpack onto her lap
"Oh, sweet. Did you pack them before or after you decided to FOMO your way onto our trip?" Lizzie ask looking at Hope who was sitting beside her
"Do you have short-term memory loss? I was invited, practically kidnapped." Hope said smiling fakely
"I would've thought you wanted to spend the break with your new bestie Penelope." Lizzie replied
"That would be fun, but at least I'm spending it with Josie, so sorry if my presence bothers you but I'm not going anywhere." Hope said, smirking igniting a spark of jealousy inside Lizzie, as Josie smiled softly to herself, when she heard Hope through her earbuds
Don't get her wrong Josie hates that Hope and Lizzie hate each other but she just couldn't help but smile at the mention of Hope wanting to spend spring break with her.
"Or maybe you just wanted to ruin yet another Saltzman spring break." Lizzie said turning away from Hope to look out the window
"When have I ever ruined a spring break?" Hope asked turning to Lizzie
"Girls? We're gonna be in this classic automobile for six hours, all right? So, no bickering." Alaric said from the driver's seat
"It would help if it wasn't a thousand degrees in here. I'm burning up." Hope said as she fanned herself with her hand
"You're burning up. Now, that's ironic." Lizzie said
"What does that even mean?" Hope asked confused
"Don't play dumb. I see you. I see right through you."
"I don't even know what you're talking about. What happened to playing nice?" Hope asked
"Over. Done. I'm getting back to me. I am who I am." Lizzie said smiling
"Right, Josie?" Lizzie asked looking over Hope to Josie, who couldn't hear her over the music blasting through her earbuds
"Josie?" Lizzie asked again, as she reached over and tapped her arm
"Sorry?" Josie said as she took out an earbud
"Josie, you can not leave me alone with just her for company." Lizzie said quietly signalling to Hope who was literally sitting in between them
"Well, I get carsick if I don't listen to music." Josie said putting her earbud back in
"Josie!" Lizzie whisper shouted as she reached over to pull the ear bud back off as all three girls began to argue and shove each other
"Girls!" Alaric said, as they continued fighting
"Girls! There's no reason to be tense or awkward, okay? Now Knock it off." He said louder
"We're going to get through this trip together. God help us all." Alaric said the last part quietly to himself as they continued driving.
