A Love Split in Three

Chapter 5

Lizzie rehearsed her victory speech holding her flashcards in her hand looking at her reflection in the mirror, "This is such an honor." she began before looking down at the cards in her hands for the next line.

'It's so nice to know that you all love me as much as I thought you did." Lizzie fanned the fake tears out of her eyes with the cards as Josie slowly walked up behind her

"Hey, Lizzie.." The blonde then turned around to face Josie

"Before you go too far down the road of victory speeches, I talked to Serena and her goth coven. She said that she would vote for you, but they just wanted to make sure that you would allow time off for pagan holidays." Josie said waving around her pen, clipboard in tow, as Lizzie sat down on her bed

Lizzie sighed, "Right"

Josie then check marked the paper clipped to the clipboard marking off the goth coven, as Rafael walked in to ensure the witch vote as he had said he would

"Hey, Raf" Josie smiled politely

"Hey, Jo." He waved

"Welcome to the winner's circle." Lizzie said 

"How's it going with Jackass Jed? I mean, do you need any more advice on how to deal with Cro-Magnon alphas?" Josie said hinting at the beating she witnessed him getting last week

"That's actually why I'm here." He said moving around Josie and towards Lizzie

"Lizzie." He smiled

"Hey." she said looking up at him from where she was sitting on the bed

"You got a sec?" He asked still smiling, hoping his charm would work for what he was about to ask for

"Sure, but make it quick I have a victory speech to write." She said standing up and crossing her arms

"It's about that actually, the honor council might get to decide if Landon can stay. Emma won't say how she's gonna vote, but I talked to Mg, and he's the only vampire running, and he's on board. And because everybody knows that you're gonna get the witch vote, I have to ask, will you vote yes so that Landon can stay?" He asked hopeful but still anxious

Lizzie scoffed, "You want me to vote for Hope Mikaelson's hobbit to stay at the school? You must be delusional or stupid, or both. He's not even supernatural and he doesn't belong here." she finished annoyed at Rafael for even asking

"Why? What do you have against Hope and Landon." Rafael asked annoyed as Josie pretended not to hear them while fixing the books on her bookcase

"I don't need to explain myself to you" Lizzie scoffed looking away

"Please, Lizzie I'll do anything just vote Landon in." Rafael pleaded

Lizzie looked down at the hardwood floors, having a mental battle trying to decide what she should do until she finally spoke, "Answer me this first," She said, turning around with a smile that didn't quite reach her eyes. "What were Hope and Landon doing the last time you saw them?" she asked

"Last time I saw them they were sitting on the grass behind the school laughing at Landon's inability to do pull ups." He shrugged confused by her question

Lizzie's smile grew as she took in a deep breath, "Alright, I'll vote for your 2006 emo boy band reject to stay, just.. Make sure my vote stays between us two."

"I don't want anyone to think I actually appreciate his existence." Lizzie said before turning to the cards sprawled on her bed

"And I need hands to set up for Josie and I's party next week. " she said, reorganizing the cards on her hand no longer paying Rafael any mind.

"Alright, I can do that. Thank you Lizzie. Really." He said walking backwards towards the door smiling and giving Lizzie a thumbs up before turning around

Lizzie waved him off before sitting back down on her bed and continuing to reorganize her cards silently

"That's a nice thing you did for Raf." Josie finally spoke

"I didn't do it for Raf."
