"This is a nice office." Inhye complimented as Jenna poured them both cups a tea. Jenna placed the pot down before taking a seat on the couch, across from Inhye.
"Thank you." Jenna replied with a smile. She noticed Inhye open her mouth to say something before quickly closing it.
"You can get straight to the point, there's no need for fluff." Jenna told her. Inhye slowly nodded before looking around the room.
"There's no cameras or recording devices in my private office, if that's what you're worried about." Jenna watched as Inhye seemed more relaxed, sinking into her seat.
"So you know about NCT then." Inhye finally said. Jenna nodded.
"Do you know who they are?" Jenna asked her.
"I do." Inhye said. "If you're wondering why I haven't reported them yet, it's because I have no need for it. All they've done is take down criminals and do a few illegal exchanges here and there, but we both know that in the business world, illegal exchanges are done in big companies as well."
"Like your father?" Jenna said. She noticed Inhye freeze in her position before slowly putting the teacup down.
"Listen, I know what my father did was wrong, but if I wasn't engaged to Jaehyun, NCT would have gladly taken the offer." Inhye pointed out.
"I'm not part of NCT, I have no say in their adventures." Jenna told her.
"I know, but you have a big influence on Jaehyun. Heck, that man loves you so much, his whole world revolves around you like you're the shining sun." Inhye exclaimed. Jenna felt her cheeks turn red at Inhye's words. She cleared her throat, regaining her composure.
"So you're talking to me because you think I can convince Jaehyun?" Jenna asked. Inhye nodded.
"If you can convince Jaehyun to help my father, NCT will follow. I don't know if you've noticed but NCT is so powerful, the whole world bends at their will. Whatever they want, goes. And Jaehyun has a big say in that." Inhye told her.
"But if Jaehyun helps your father, the marriage will still happen, no?" Jenna pointed out. Inhye shook her head.
"I... Well... Listen, I don't want to get married to Jaehyun either. He's not the one that I love, I only agreed for the sake of my father's company." Inhye confessed. Jenna tilted her head, staring at the girl.
"I'm having a hard time trusting you on that one." Jenna told her. Inhye sighed deeply, resting her hand on her stomach. Her stomach. Inhye was a model, never in her life had she had a stomach. Jenna widened her eyes as she analyzed the girl in front of her. Inhye had large bags under her eyes, as if she hadn't slept in a while. She wore looser clothes than usual. On her feet, she had switched her heels for a more comfortable pair of white sneakers.
"You're pregnant." Jenna's words came out as barely a whisper. Inhye looked down at her feet before slowly nodding.
"It's not Jaehyun's." Inhye told her, but Jenna already knew that.
"I'm hoping this child will be enough to break off our marriage." Inhye said, avoiding eye contact with the girl. Jenna could tell that the pregnancy had taken a large toll on her body, and the current situation didn't help.
"But with your father released, wouldn't this affect you and Jaehyun?" Jenna asked. Inhye shook her head.
"No, only my reputation would be ruined. But as long as the family business is up and about, I'll be okay." Inhye said, reassuring the Jenna.
"Are you sure you want to do this?" Jenna asked, feeling concerned for the girl across from Inhye. As much as Jenna hated her, she had to admit, this decision was a tough one to make.
"I'm positive." Inhye said, giving Jenna a small smile. Jenna looked down at her laced fingers sitting in her lap, pondering to herself before making a decision.
"In that case, I'll do my hardest to help you." Jenna said. She watched as a large smile spread across Inhye's face, tears brimming the corners of her eyes.
"Thank you so much Jenna. You saved my life!" Inhye exclaimed, lightly dabbing the corners of her eyes with her sleeve. Jenna chucked before handing her a tissue.
"I'll talk to Jaehyun. I'm sure we can work through all of this together." Jenna said, standing up. She made her way over to the other side of the coffee table, taking a seat beside Inhye.
"Thank you Jenna. Thank you for doing this for me." Inhye said, thanking her again and again. Jenna looked at the girl who was overflowing with joy. She took a deep breath before opening her arms, pulling Inhye into a soft embrace.
Jenna felt how tense Inhye was before she slowly relaxed into the hug. The two girls were giggling as they separated.
"I'm so sorry for being such a terrible person to you in high school. In all honesty, I was jealous of you. Life came so easy, you were so pretty and smart. Plus you and Jaehyun were the cutest couple." Inhye confessed, taking Jenna back with surprise.
"Me? Inhye, you were the prettiest girl by far, all the guys were hitting on you!" Jenna said back to her.
"Either way, I just want to put the past behind us." Inhye said as they settled down. Jenna nodded in agreement.
"Us girls should stick together." Jenna said with a smile. Inhye returned the favour.
"Especially in this cruel business world out there." Inhye said, sighing. ———————————————————————————

Just watched 127 on iheart radio and i think jaehyun's english has improved a lot :)
