At The Airport In May

-Matt's POV-

It's been a while, eh?

Well what can I say? It's been about... five months? God, I can't believe it's been that long. It all happened so fast.

Let's see, in February I tried out for the spring play; didn't get the lead but I did get a part. It's not my fault the lead was practically made for Jack. Got tons of flowers though from Margret on opening night.

Speaking of Margret, she set me and my brothers straight on all the partying. I guess growing up doing whatever we wanted didn't leave a good impression on us when we came to the States. She enforced a pretty strict curfew, especially on David. Home by 12 am sharp, no delays.

I didn't really mind though; parties were never really my style. What else? Oh yeah I've been sorta dating Clara for the past couple of months. That's been great. She's great. Never thought it would last this long but, hey, things happen.

Spring season of football was pretty great, but I sprained my ankle for a few weeks. That was not fun. Luckily I recovered in time for the final championship against Dalek High. Those guys were mean. Rory scored the winning goal.

And yes, Rory and Amy are still together, no surprise there, I think Rory was talking about marrying her. That seemed pretty crazy at the time. Amy and I are still best friends, and I got her to stop drinking so much.

David and Rose broke up for a bit, that was probably the worse he's ever looked in his life. He said they broke up mutually, but I knew that was just code for she dumped him. He started hanging around with Martha and Donna more though. About a month ago he and Rose got back together. He's gotten a lot quieter since, a lot more reserved.

Chris has probably changed the most out of the three of us. Apparently he had a thing for Mickey the whole time and didn't even know it. Unfortunately Mickey was already dating Martha at the time. Chris said he didn't mind actually, he said the fact of knowing was relief enough for him.

England always felt like a long ways away, but now, walking in the airport, I still couldn't believe I had to leave it all behind. It all happened so fast.

I tapped on my phone as I pulled my suitcase along with me walking through the airport. The crisp spring air was as refreshing as it was beckoning me and my brothers back to our home. I don't even know what home is anymore.

I was trying to text Amy but she wasn't answering. I guess it was 6am after all.

My brothers and I finished our spring finals yesterday. God I was glad to have that all over with. Margret arranged a big going away party for us last night. It was crazy, everyone we met in America was there. Even Mrs. Idris from the resort was there.

"This is such bullshit." Chris growled as he pulled his leather jacket closer to himself.

"I second that statement." David said sternly.

I let out a heavy sigh. Walking through the airport felt like a march of death. Would I ever truly be free from my family?

The airport was fairly empty, a few lone travelers. Businessmen, bachelorettes, that sort of thing. My brothers and I headed for the private jet my parents sent for us.

I kept trying to contact Amy, even tried calling her, but nothing worked. I guess I really had to do this part alone.

I thought that until I saw a small crowd gathered at our terminal.

"Is that?" I asked, squinting my eyes.

To my surprise I saw my friends all standing there holding gifts and signs. Margret at the center. I saw Chris and David's friends there as well.
