29 years. That's how long you had known Ashe. 21 years you two have been together. The two of you had grown to be rather familiar in Arizona with wanted posters advertising your faces all around with high prices attached at the bottom. You were telling the truth when you said you'd go anywhere and do anything with and for Ashe. You had helped her in heists of all sorts, even at the expense of someone else's life. However, that didn't bother you, both you and Ashe were happy as could be together with everything you could ever want.
The family the two of you had worked to bring together had grown tremendously. It was nearly impossible for any force of any kind to destroy it. Ashe and the others were highly skilled sharp shooters, you however didn't use a gun too often. You knew how to use one no doubt, but you were more the of the crown jewel of the gang. Ashe made sure that everyone knew your safety came above all else. If she wasn't around, you were in charge, keeping everyone in place and in turn, you got protection.
Ashe was away on a score, one that you had helped her in planning. It was a pretty big one, so you were a bit nervous for her, you didn't want anything bad to happen to her. You sat outside under shade, watching the horizon and waiting for her return. You didn't always do this, only on big heists like this, where it was possible she could get hurt. It wasn't very long until you saw one of the gang members running back. With furrowed brows, you stood up as the boy ran over to you. "We need backup, now." He said out of breath, you opened your mouth to speak but he cut you off. "Ashe is fine, but we need more manpower." He added, knowing what you were going to ask.
You gathered a group of members to go with you, following the path back to where Ashe was. Once close enough, you ordered the others ahead to help while you went to find where Ashe was. If the two of you were on a heist together, you both preferred if you were with her. You noticed officers crawling around everywhere, having to stop every two feet and duck behind something, waiting for them to leave. The scene was rather quiet, not like how Ashe typically worked, she must've been trying something that you weren't aware of.
Out of the corner of your eye you saw someone up on a higher ground, inching forward ever so slowly as if examining the scene. You recognized the figure, it was Ashe. There was a clear shot over to where she was, but as soon as you moved a muscle to run towards her, an arm was wrapped around your neck from behind, causing a shout of surprise to escape your throat. Ashe immediately heard your call and knew it was you.
She spun around with wide eyes as she saw your situation. "(Y/N)!" She yelled out, followed by a bullet wizzing past her head.
"There they are!" An officer shouted, pointing up at Ashe's location. A few more police had come to join the man who had you in a headlock, painfully cuffing your hands to make sure you would stop struggling and that you couldn't get away. Officers flooded towards Ashe and the other members. You heard her call a retreat, but you met her eyes before they ran off, saying she'd be back.
You had no reason to fight the officers as they dragged you away from the scene. Ashe abandoned the heist for now because you knew she was more worried about you. She'd come back to it, but she needed to come up with a way to get you back first.
The officers were not at all gentle with you in the slightest, throwing you behind metal bars with force. You shouted and cursed at them but they did not care one bit. Hours passed and you sat on the concrete floor, boredom clouding your head. You were being watched the whole time with an officer right outside your cell. They didn't know what they were going to do with you yet, so you had to wait, just hoping and praying that Ashe would quickly come up with a plan and put it in action. You knew she would, she just needed time to think. But you didn't know how much time you could grant her.
The officer yawned and you glared at him. "I can't even get privacy?"
"Shut up." He replied, hitting the bars a bit with his baton.
"Shut up..." You mocked under your breathe. He ignored you and rolled his eyes as he turned his attention away from you. "Don't I get a phone call?"
"No. Stop talking." You groan and stood up about to say something before you heard a loud boom outside of the facility. A grin made its way onto your face as the officer jumped, looking at you as if you had done it.
"Damn that's a shame... sounds like you pissed off my girlfriend." You said with a smirk. The officer fumbled with the keys as he heard his fellow partners shouting outside, drowned out by the sounds of gunshots. He unlocked your cell and reached in, roughly grabbing your arm and pulling you out.
"Not unless we get you out of here first." He said, dragging you along behind him as he walked through the maze of the jail, finding a way out that wouldn't be visible to the scene outside. You didn't fight, you knew you were as good as free already.
The officer halted in his tracks after turning a corner. You couldn't even see what he saw before he was on the ground, out cold and his grip was released from your arm. You glanced up to see that familiar pair of crimson red eyes looking down at you. You smiled and wrapped your arms around her in a hug, ignoring the chaos you heard outside. "Thank you for the rescue mission." You said jokingly, though you meant it.
"Of course, I wouldn't let anything happen to you. You're my ride or die, Juliet."
