(Fluff)

You were on a team with multiple other Overwatch agents, all working under Fareeha Amari, or more commonly recognized as Pharah. She led your 'squad' and you had worked under her for two years now, slowly but surely climbing your way up to her second-in-command. Not all, but a majority of the higher ranked soldiers had a squad that they trained and led, such as Soldier: 76, Tracer, and Ana who you had found out was Fareeha's mother. Though it was pretty easy to tell, they weren't difficult to tell apart, especially with the shared eye tattoo they both had.
The longer you worked with Pharah as your 'commander', you started to catch romantic feelings towards her. You'd be lying to yourself if you tried to deny them, although you kept them a secret. First of all, it would be rather unprofessional to date your commander, and second of all, you were for sure that Fareeha had a thing for the medic, Angela, or better known as Mercy. You couldn't blame her, her angelic features were very attractive, but that only led you to be jealous of the woman who had seemingly captured your crush's heart without even trying.
In private you thought about your feelings for the Egyptian woman quite frequently, but when you were training or fighting, you had no only choice but to push them away and focus. Coming up next week would be a slaughterhouse. Talon and Overwatch were supposed to be attacking the same place, but that ended up turning into more of a planned war. So to say the least, no one hardly got any rest. Everyone was running around training nonstop. The only time you'd be able to rest would be a day before leaving to make sure your muscles wouldn't be overly sore for the attack.
You were the type of person who stressed way to much during just a regular mission, you always went through every single scenario in your head. You debated every wrong turn, and anything that could possibly go wrong no matter who well the mission was planned out. So when you had found out about next week's event, you nearly had a stress breakdown. Each training session you'd push yourself far too much and Fareeha had to stop you before you unintentionally conflicted injury upon yourself like tearing your muscles or spraining an ankle. Fareeha's job was to make sure you all were in perfect condition, but you were making it hard for her to do so and you hadn't even realized the trouble you had recently been giving her. Your stress blinded you.
When you did have downtime which was either in the morning, a couple times in the afternoon and once before bed, Fareeha would stop by to check on you. Today was no different as it was the last day of training, tomorrow was the day of break, and after that was the day you had been dreading the whole time. You were sitting alone at the bar in the kitchen, eating a sandwich before you headed off to bed, Fareeha walking up from behind you and taking the seat beside you. Your muscles ached and burned, it only took two minutes of standing before you felt like you were about to fall over.
"You worked well today." Fareeha said after a bit of awkward silence. You just nod in reply, not really wanting to around anyone at the moment, even the girl you had a huge crush on. "What? Too tired to speak?" She rose a brow at you and you hid your face behind your half eaten sandwich a bit.
"Just sore..." You say quietly as she placed a hand on your back, causing you to blush and hide your face a bit more.
"Well you can't blame that on me. If you had listened and had let up a bit you wouldn't be in as much pain." Fareeha sighed in frustration as she drew her hand back. You looked over at her, feeling a bit guilty as you saw you had irritated her by not fully following her orders.
"Sorry..." You mumble and look away from her to hide the pink covering your cheeks.
"It's fine." She shook her head. "But you know if you're still to sore to the point where you can hardly move, I can't take you along on the attack.
You frown but gave a nod. "Yeah I know... I'll be fine."
"Don't make your training a waste of time." Fareeha said as she placed a hand on your shoulder, getting up and walking back to the rooms. You watch her leave and sigh. When you looked back to your sandwich you had lost your appetite, finally deciding to turn in for the night.
When the next day came you could hardly get out of bed. But once you did, you immediately forced yourself over to the mes bay to see Angela in hopes of reviving something that soothe your aches and pains.
Angela was inside with, no surprise to you, Fareeha, when you entered. Fareeha looked up to you as Angela walked over to you. You simply asked for some pain medicine, which Angela gladly granted to you. Before you left, Fareeha stopped you. Glancing up at her, you blushed a light pink tint. "Do you need something?" You asked.
"Yeah actually. Um, can we talk in the hall?" She asked, rubbing the back of her neck as you nodded. "I'll be back." She said to Angela as the two of you stepped out of the room and into the hall.
"What do you need? It's about tomorrow isn't it?"
"Well no, it's not. It's about after tomorrow." You gave her a confused look.
"What's going on after tomorrow?" You ask and Fareeha took a deep breath.
"I was wondering if after the attack and everything... if maybe you'd like to go out and get some dinner with me? You know, like a..."
"Like a date?" You finish for her, your cheeks colored a deep crimson red blush.
"Yeah... a date..." Fareeha gave a nervous smile with a dark blush of her own.
"I thought you, I thought you liked Angela?" You ask, confused as Fareeha shook her head 'no'. You gave a small, nervous smile and nodded. "Yeah, dinner would be nice." You day as she smiled down at you.
"Day after tomorrow? 7?" She asked and you nodded.
     "I'll be ready."

Bullets wizzed past your head as soldiers dropped all around you. Your surrounding was spinning around you as your head buzzed and your vision blurred as dust nestled underneath your eyelids. The rain the poured down heavily didn't help any either. It was only two in the afternoon yet the dark, clouded skies made it look as if it were seven, maybe eight at night. It was as if the clouds were crying for those who were dying beneath them.
You were injured pretty badly, your left leg was snapped, your leg was busted, and you were covered with multiple cuts and bruises that would have surely been infected already if it weren't for the rain washing them out and carrying the blood down your body.
Mercy was far to busy tending with people in far worse condition than you were in. The thunder that roared above drowned out the sounds of shouts and cries for a short while, and it that short while you could forget the hell you were in.
Trying to limp back behind your team for some cover, a strike of lightning flashed above you, causing you to temporarily loose sight of vision. Your eyesight cleared quickly but not quick enough. Someone from behind pushed you onto the ground. Grunting in pain, you rolled onto your back to see the barrel of a gun pointed at your face, held by a Talon soldier. Before they could fire, one of your squad mates jumped forward to land a devastating punch to their temple, enough to knock them out while you were helped up.
Another one of your teammates thrusted a bomb into your chest, forcing you to grab onto it. "You need to get to the roof of that building up there! Plant this quickly!" He shouted, pointing to the top of the building. You groan but nod as you took the bomb and limped towards the building as quickly as you could.
The bomb had a strap on it that used to sling it over your shoulder. On the side of the building was a tall ladder that led to the top, it'd be difficult with only one good leg but you had the skill to make it. Grabbing onto the sides of the ladder, you hoisted yourself up, putting your good foot onto the bar and leaving your bad leg off the side of the ladder. Your arms burned you grabbed higher, jumped and pulled your foot onto the next bar.
Once you were about halfway up, the Talon soldiers started to notice you, firing at the bars above you. The ladder was weak already and one good shot caused of the side bars to snap. You gasped and jumped to grab the half of the ladder still connected as both feet dangled.
Your teammates noted quickly and fired at the guards who were occupied by shooting at you. With the help, you managed to get up the rest of the ladder. On the roof you laid on your back, breathing heavily before you got up, starting to plant the bomb. It wasn't until after the time started ticking down when you realized, Talon soldiers starting to climb up from the other side, and you had no way down. You had no other choice, but to jump. As soon as your feet had left the edge, the blast thrusted you forward, debris from the building tearing into your back.
You were quite certain you were going to do, so all you could do was close your eyes and wait. The fall was shorter than you thought it should've been, and it didn't hurt nearly as bad. Slowly opening your eyes you saw you had landed in the arms of an Egyptian woman in blue armor, lowering you safety to the ground. Once you were back to safety, she let you down by Mercy, your sight starting to go black as she looked down at you worriedly.

————————————

Groaning, you slowly opened your eyes. The window were open and as you looked around you noticed you were in the med bay. Not a moment later, the door opened and Angela walking in, smiling as she saw you were awake, she peaked out into the hallway, called for someone then stepped inside the room, holding open the door. Soon Fareeha stepped inside, walking over to you. She had a small cut on her forehead, but other than that she looked untouched. She gently grabbed your hand. "Are you alright?" She asked softly and you weakly nodded.
     "Yeah I'm alright..."
"I'm guessing tomorrow night isn't gonna happen?"
"I told you I'd be ready tomorrow at seven, I'm gonna be ready tomorrow at seven." You say and she grinned slightly, leaning town to gently peck your lips.
"I'll see you then, (Y/N)" She whispered.
