Stress Angst? Stress Angst! Also sad iskall.

Warnings- described nausea, faint mentions of body horror, and probably poorly written Angst.

Stress sighed. The room was quiet. Iskall had finally fallen asleep on his desk after too long for Stress's liking. She smiled, before returning to her neutral expression. Picking up one of the nearby blankets, stress draped it over her friends shoulders. Iskall pulled it tighter, murmuring into his sleeve.

"Oh iskall." Stress smiled, ruffling his hair. "What am i going to do with you?"

She left, moving into the icy night. It was mid winter, and while most of the server was decently warm still, the snowy biomes were bitter. Not that that mattered anymore to stress. Christmas was coming, though the server was not willing to celebrate after stress fell.

Waking up was the easiest part. Going from numb to stiff and aware all in the space of a moment, became so much easier with someone there to catch her.

Elyta were tricky things, prone to bouts of self awareness. This was most seen with mumbo, who's elyra never really liked him. Of course, stress's wings never were so tricky or rude, until they totally failed her.

She had leapt off the wall of her castle, trying to put up fairy lights in celebration of the coming holiday, as she had done hundreds of times before. It was a moment before she realised she was falling. She was spiraling

Downwards,

Spinning

Her elytra refused to activate.

Even if she could,

She didn't have enough time or rockets to save herself.

Stress shivered, before removing the mask like carapace over her skin.

She didn't like doing it. It didn't hurt or anything, but the skin underneath was incredibly sensitive. Doubly so, as large shards of ice still penetrated her skin, the carapse being the only thing hiding the gruesome scene.

The shell was like a enchanted mask. When she took it off, it looked like a typical mask, but when she put it back, it moved with her face, making eerie facial expression that gave away her inhumanity. Her smiles were too wide, scowls darkened her face to an odd degree, and her crying was oddly quiet.

Stress took in the markings on the shell. It was the same pale blue as the rest of her, its inhumanity staring her in the face. It's puppet like mouth and empty eyes, the white markings, a heart between its antenna like eyebrows, dots running above her eyes and nose, and hook like shapes on her cheeks, and the small snowflakes on the eyelashes sent waves of anxiety up her back.

The wind picked up, and a few flakes of snow drifted to the glacier surface. Stress replaced the mask, and floated off into the night.

The other night dear, as I lay sleeping

Iskall woke with a start. He spun around, certain he had heard her voice again, his heart pounding in his chest.

I dreamed I held you in my arms.

He sat. the quiet winter night air hung in the lab. Iskall's near empty stomach rolled, the empty room dark.

But when I awoke, dear, I was mistaken

His hand drifted up to the blanket draped around his shoulders.

"stress..." Iskall's eye watered, and the world under his feet swirled as he stood. He dropped back into the chair, the blanket pulled off his shoulders and into his hand.

So I hung my head and I cried

Woo! alright going to give this  DES Au a break, Maybe a new AU, or just something disconnected? ugh. Also the lyrics in Iskall's little bit are from You are my Sunshine, if you wanted to know. Personally I imagined it from the cover done by The Phantoms,if you wanted to know.
