Chapter 9

** Kelsey's P.O.V ** 

"Are you sure about this?" Matt questioned as I packed my things and got ready to head home 

"Positive" I smiled fakely for the hundredth time to reassure him I was certain about what I was about to do 

"Have you spoken to Jacob?" Matt asked 

"Why should I have to? It's nothing got to do with him, I'm doing this for me, for my own sake. Besides he hasn't answered any of my calls or texts in the last 3 days! He's just disappeared" I said, getting angrier as I continued 

"Your own sake? Kelsey the only thing you're going to get out of what your about to do is 10 years in federal prison!" Matt begged "Just wait until Jake gets back!" he finished 

"Wait till he gets back and then what? We "talk" about it, in other words, I state my case and I get knocked down and told no by each of you! I'm sick and tired of waiting" I said exasperated  

Without another word I picked up my bags and left. 

I drove home, my mind racing, I tried to call Jacob again, still no answer so I left a voice message. 

"Hey Jake, it's me again, listen I know your avoiding me and the guys for a reason, I have no idea what that reason is, but Jacob I'm worried about you please call me back soon baby, I love you." I said with a quiver in my voice as I hung up the phone 

I parked outside my apartment and headed inside. I dropped my bags inside the door and locked it behind me. I began to set up my computers. 

The time had finally come.

**Hotch's P.O.V** 

"I miss you" I sighed over the phone, it had been so long since we spoke, it was so good to hear that voice 

"Listen I've got a mountain of paperwork I've gotta get through, I'll talk to you as soon as I can ok?" I said in hushed tone, hating the fact I had to hang up 

"Bye, I miss you too, stay safe ok?" I said hanging up just as Spencer entered the room 

I snapped the phone shut as I raised my head up quickly. 

"Is everything ok?" I said as I cleared my throat 

All of a sudden Spencer gave me a look, as if he was trying to figure something out 

"Uhh was that Jack?" he asked 

"Uh yea, yea he's away at the minute with his cousins" I lied but I knew my covering up was bad,I could see the uncertainty in Spencer's face 

"Well um we've got a new case it's just come in" Spencer replied 

"Yea I'll be right there" I gave him a small lopsided grin 

Spencer left my office and I stood up to make my way to the conference room. As I was walking down the hall I heard a furious clicking of heels behind me. 

"Sir" I heard Garcia shout from behind me 

I turned to see what the problem was 

"Yes Penelope?" I said seeing the concern on her face 

"We have a problem" she replied gravely
