In the end, Mira didn't show up that day again. I guess Laxus must've really hurt her feelings. I kind of feel bad, because I somehow feel like I'm the whole reason behind it. If I didn't show up, Mira wouldn't have gotten mad about the entire respect thing.

"Hey Laxus, why are you actually so cold to everyone?" I ask, as we walk home. I've been wanting to ask this the entire day, but figured it wouldn't be right to ask it in the guild hall. Chase fell asleep when we were still there, so I'm carrying him now.

Laxus looks at me and sighs. "A few years ago my father hurt Fairy Tail. It wasn't right but he showed regret, still gramps didn't even try to have sympathy and expelled him. On top of that, everyone always sees me as the grandson of master Makarov, I want to prove I'm a person of my own."

I didn't quite expect him to just blurt it out, but I guess it's a pro of being in a relationship. "I think you're already plenty of a person yourself," I say, looking up at him. "You and your grandfather aren't that much alike, though I'm glad you're not some loud alcoholic... He's a good master, though... I think I finally get why Fairy Tail is such a chaos..." I mumble.

"That's why I want to take over as master, I want to make Fairy Tail stronger."

"I'm sure you'll be a great master," I smile. "Just try to show some more cooperation with everyone, you sometimes seem like a bit of an outsider. Wouldn't it be a better idea to try and connect to everyone some more?"

Laxus laughs, patting my head. "And this is why you're a weakling."

I sigh, thinking to myself how big of an idiot he is, as we continue walking back. As we reach the house, I put Chase to bed and sit down in Laxus's room. We talk for a bit about the festival tomorrow, but I can't get my head off of what Laxus told me. His father got expelled for hurting his fellow guild members. He wants to become guild master. In the end I go to sleep in the guest room, next to Zaid. I sincerely hope he won't do anything stupid in the end.

The next morning I wake up because of Chase. "The parade is today! Are you coming?" he cheers, while shaking me.

"Yes, yes. I'm already getting up, tune down," I mumble, as I sleepily sit up.

I get myself ready, making sure Chase is fully ready as well. We walk downstairs, where Laxus is talking to the Thunder God Tribe.

"Hey, what's going on?" I ask, looking at the four mages.

"Mary, Chase, would you mind coming with me to the cathedral?" Laxus asks, looking at us. "I'll explain on the way there."

I look up at him in surprise. "Sure... eh... Let me just take some fruit as breakfast..." I answer, quickly grabbing some from the bowl.

"Laxus, you're sure you want to pull through with this?" Freed suddenly asks. It worries me that he does so, Freed seems to blindly trust and follow Laxus most of the time.

"I'm sure, don't go backing out now," Laxus sneers at him, before walking to the doors. "We have to leave."

I quickly grab two apples, handing one to Chase. "Come on, we'll be quickly visiting the cathedral."

Chase looks at us in confusion, though nods. He isn't at the age that he doesn't realise it seems important, though I doubt he gets the tensed and negative energy in the room.

I suddenly remember Laxus's words, how his father got expelled for hurting the guild, and I get scared. I don't think Laxus would straight-up attack the guild, yet Freed's words bother me.

"So what's going on?" I ask as we walk towards the cathedral.

"I'll make the guild stronger," Laxus starts off. "I'll have everyone recognise my strength and take over from gramps as the master."

"How do you plan to do so?" I ask him, scared of what's to come.

Laxus's explanation lasts until we reach the cathedral and with every step my fear grows. Evergreen will cause the participants of the miss Fairy Tail contest to turn to stone, as Freed sets up traps with his runes. Everyone will search for Laxus, hidden in the cathedral, and fall for Freed's traps. In these traps they're forced to fight, and they'll only be set free when someone is no longer able to fight. This way he wants to fight the strongest. The stoned girls will be hostages and he will activate thunder palace, a magic which can destroy entire Magnolia, if they still don't cooperate.

"Isn't that going a bit far?" I ask him, but Laxus is already making his way back to the exit.

"We can discuss this later. I'll go watch the contest. See ya!" And with that he closes the heavy door.
