Lexander had stood from the couch, and Leeland right at his side, teeth bared as the heavy boots stopped before the entryway. "Is this a bad time?"
Leeland sniffed the air and then paused stretching a hand before the Vampire. "Wait! It's Kate." Lexander's eyes did not change back but his teeth retracted and he relaxed slightly. "No... not at all. You may enter." Lexander said firmly.
Kate came inside as Adam wiped at his eyes and cleared his throat. He stood along with his supernatural companions and then stepped forward towards his friend. "Is everything alright, Kate?"
His blue eyes met Adam's. "Quite." His eyes went to the Vampire as he stepped inside. "Nice to see you fully revived Vampire..."
"Lexander, and yes, Adam assisted me." He tipped his head up, not asking in what manner that Adam had helped him. "Now, pray tell, why are you here?"
Kate chuckled. "Well, I'm here because you helped us too." The Vampire's serious express did not change. "You saved us from being caught off guard by those rogues. I'm here to thank you, and to ask you why?" He asked, his hands at his leather belt, eyes focused on Lexander.
Lexander exhaled through his nose a little heavy. What Kate didn't know was that he nearly did not save them, Adam being involved was the only thing that kept him from jumping down from that tree and alerting them. "I did because of Adam. I knew how much you all meant to him, and I could hear the Werewolves getting closer and closer... I didn't care what happened to me, I owed him my life." Kate arched an eyebrow. "How so V—Lexander?"
Leeland stepped aside, his eyes looking between both men, his cautionary sight still on as they conversed over the acts of the night before. Lexander rested a hand on the boy's shoulder. "I had been attacked by a Werewolf, I found Adam and he thankfully cared enough to save me." He let his eyes find the hunter who was still standing somewhat between himself and Kate, almost as if he were trying to protect Kate. "Please do not fret Adam... I am not here to kill him. He saved our hunters and my closest friend." Kate said seeing how hard Adam had set his face.
Adam regarded his mate with something close to sympathy, for knowing what a scare he might have had when he nearly got attacked and Lexander took the brunt of the attack of the Werewolf. "Look, I'm not here to harm them or to question you, I'm only here to make sure that both of you are alright."
"Don't be frazzled. Adam is simply overprotective." Kate nodded then he pointed and turned to Leeland. "Your eyes turned back, and you had fangs... werewolf fangs." The boy gulped, but Lexamder squeezed his shoulder softly to calm him. "Adam... what exactly is going on here?"
Lexander shut the door and grabbed Kate and shoved him back, making him fall on to the couch—moving in a blinding fashion. Fear captured Kate's eyes and he reached to his side for his pistol and found nothing. He looked to Lexander and found his belt full of weapons dangling from the Vampires finger. "I'm sorry, but it's for precaution, you understand?" a smirk pulled on his lips and he handed Leeland the weapons. "You'll get these back after we're done speaking. Is that alright with you?"
"No. You're supernaturally armed, I'm human."
"You're a skilled hunter, anyways, we will not hurt you as long as you are inside of this house, and once you agree to remain on our side. Lexander lowered himself in the opposite chair. "Now, you'll listen, we all know how kind Adam's heart is, and that is simply why the boy and I are here. We were saved, and Adam humbly shared his home with us, it may feel as though we kept him prisoner, but we've come to care for him, and him for us." Kate hummed softly. "You're his close friend, you should know him better than anyone else, right?"
Kate couldn't deny that. "Yes, Adam is known to be a kind man. Very kind, he would have chosen to save all the creatures he hunted from damnation if he could. How he became one of the best hunters was purely his mother's doing, and his father. But Adam is what I call a lover... disguised as a hunter."
