As silence fell throughout the room Taka and Leeland leaned back against the table, turning to look at the shambles that the medical room was currently in. "Oh fuck." Taka mumbled.
"How did this night turn out like this?" Leeland asked as the men that were thrown towards the wall and bed groaned and sat themselves up.
Taka looked at him, eyes tired as he found the brown eyes of Leeland. "I have no godly idea."
He exhaled and sighed. "I think we should go help them."
"Yeah."
They pushed up from the table and moved over to assist the men back to their feet. Ban was the first to be lifted to his feet by Leeland, while Taka yanked Gaxin up to his feet. Lexander rushed over in a flash to pick up Reedley, Kate, and then Adam. Vidaldus having picked his own self up. "Dear, are you alright?" Lexander asked.
"Yes," Adam groaned, "just saying hello to the wall."
Lexander chuckled softly, dusting him off, as he scanned him for any bruises.
"So, there are now four ailing parties, who gets our attention first?" Wicker asked.
Everyone turned to look over to the familiar. She rose an eyebrow and glared at the men. "Would you all rather I sit this one out?" She asked, her accent thick and her arms moving to fold before her chest.
"No, no. Ignore us, Wicker." Vidaldus began as he looked at the young witch lying unconscious. "Huh, why do I have the feeling that I was needed?" Vidaldus asked turning around to face Gaxin who panted and leaned against the end of the bed.
"Maybe because you were," Lexander answered.
"You were," Yoli confirmed. "Ugh, Asha had been in a stasis since she woke Kate up from his own poison-induced coma," Yoli said, trying to sit up. Kate rushed over to her, making her lie back. "Kate, please, I'm exhausted not dying."
"You're clearly in no state to be moving after such a strenuous process." He rebuttal, her eyes finding his clear blue eyes as they sparked up a silent dispute.
"Don't challenge me on this Hunter."
"I will. You need to regain your energy, and correct me if I'm wrong but you've given enough of that to Valo, haven't you?"
Yoli growled at him but resigned and nodded. "Be thankful that you're charming." She said. He smiled and pressed a kiss to her forehead.
"I know, thank you," Kate answered.
"So Asha... what do we think is wrong with her?" Vidaldus asked.
Ban stepped forward. "What I saw while I was in her head was quite disheartening. Poor girl is trapped inside a bolla di memoria¹, or what we call a memory bubble. She's caught inside what seems to be Kate's traumatic experience that put him in a coma. Instead of expelling the memory and removing him from his cage, she absorbed it when her powers began to overwhelm her." He exhaled heavily. "She wasn't ready for such a job."
