Two hours ago...

Kate was walking from Adam's, deciding that he'd head on over to Kalson's since he wanted to speak with him about an important topic and also reassure him that the Vampire was not going to be a threat and that Adam was more than capable of handling the situation since... he was quite taken by the creature—man. Kalson's home was outside of the village just like his and Adam's. His home however sat near a steady creek where the older man loved to fish and cool off in. They all could have lived in the village, or near it, but like some of their fellow hunters, but they knew the risk of their job and did not want any danger focused on the village because of them, so they opted to live in the outer ranks of the village where the wilderness was more than welcoming, at times. The trek to the lovely one-story cabin that sat perched on the best leveled incline where there was enough trees for coverage, but also enough open land for training, leisure and a bit of much needed distance to relax in the wilderness.

Kate came upon the house and he hoped that Kalson was awake, since he had chosen to take a later shift than his usual, and Kalson was one who cherished his sleep when he could get it, every second counted.

Kalson laid in bed his body spent from the previous night, since he had worked and cleaned up and tended to his men and women late into the night and early into the morning. He had had to drag himself home and nearly fell into bed without showering or shedding a single article of clothing off his battered body. The bloodied, and torn fabrics that he had had on not making for quite a good image in the eyes of his lover, who quickly went to his aid once he walked into their bedroom. He had caught Kalson in his arms as he staggered in his stance and he helped him undress and told him to take a bath, to which he had helped him to do since Kalson was less than enthusiastic to do so. His muscles had been sore and his head had ached from all that had gone on in just one bloody day... twenty-four hours of non-stop problem one after the other... and then the happening with Adam and that... that beast, a Vampire, of all the beings in the world, Adam had to get himself into some correlation with a bloodsucking beast that killed without mercy or care.

Kalson at the time did not know how to handle what he had heard, especially not when Kate, one of his most trusted men had come to the defense of that creature, but then again, if memory served, Adam had been saved from a werewolf attack by the Vamp. Now, why would a Vampire do that? Why would he protect the life of a hunter? Why would Adam take care of him, carrying him off... and why on God's good earth would that damn Vampire have warned them about the Werewolf attack?

"Kalson? Sweetheart, I see you squinting your brows, I thought you were resting? You've been thinking about last night, haven't you?" asked his lover, Vidaldus Galgo, [Vi-da-lus Gal-go (second D is silent)] who had been awake since he had wanted to watch over Kalson who was more than restless while he slept. He set his book down on the nightstand near the lamp then scooched closer to his partner and ran his pointer finger across his temple, where the creases from years of stressful work and always frowning were wearing at his skin. "You're tense, you need to learn how to relax Kal," he sighed, "you already go through so much during work, especially considering the state in which you walked into the house last night." Kalson frowned at his words. Vidaldus poked his forehead at seeing the stress lines wrinkling the skin there again. "Hey," Kalson's dark brown eyes staring up into the deep hazel-green eyes of his sweetheart, "are you going to be okay to head back to work tonight? I rather you stay home and recover." He rose a hand to touch his thumb to his chin, brushing the pad of his finger to the small beauty mark under the right corner of his lower lip.

"I'll be fine luv'."

"Can you promise me that?" the soft rumble came then Kalson's eyes fluttered closed for just a second.
