Pic of Valo
Kate sat on the bench, his gaze focused on a batch of mushrooms across the room from him. The two Witches sat at each side of him, their breathing slowly returning to normal after they had made themselves into a disorderly bunch. The skin at their necks tattooed with bit marks and fluster subsiding as they sat there in a silence that none of them dared to break. The revelation of their newfound... relationship was daring but not without its thrills.
"So... that happened." Valo said being the first to break the silence.
The other two began to snicker. "What really happened? Did we just start to court each other?" He asked.
Valo snorted. "Court, you make it sound like we're trying to get married. Gosh, Kate... we're... we're in a polyamorous relationship."
"Yep, and I think we all accepted willingly, right Kate?"
He nodded. "Yes, you're right. So, now what?"
Yoli shook her head, shrugging then scooted closer and rest her head on his shoulder, her eyes slipping shut. "No clue." Valo checked her pocket watch then sighed. "The dinner bell should ring soon, and Madame Waylynn should be back from her," she rolled her wrist, "wherever she's doing." Yoli hummed falling asleep while her other hand was threaded with Kate's left hand. Kate chuckled and noticed Valo running a hand up along her arm. He draped his arm over her shoulder and pulled her close, making her look up at him, "Are you cold?" He asked. She nodded once, her dark hair brushing her lips as she did. "Should I refer to you in feminine pronouns? Or would you rather it be neutral?"
"No one ever cared to ask apart from the Witches here."
He shrugged softly. "I'm prefer to not be disrespectful to anyone and their choices, no matter how foreign it is to me. I learnt that the hard way." He said going back to his past with Vidaldus and Kalson. Her fingers brushed his hand, then she moved closer to his right side, taking up his hand in her, analyzing it carefully. His fingers were long, thick, yet slender, fingernails trimmed short and clean, the veins at the back of his hands making her blush as she ran her fingertips over them. His skin also soft, she turned back to his palm, it seemed rough, but it was actually not as bad as she thought it would have been when she found out what he did. He bore no calluses or cuts... only small burn marks where she figured his got scorned with him powder, but no rough hardened skin that indicated his usage of guns and other weapons. "The tools and weapons you use..." she cut off to rephrase, "do they not callus your hands?"
"Yes, buy I wear leather gloves from time to time. I also take to caring for my body very seriously." He closed his hand and adjusted himself a little, leaning back some more, making Yoli snuggle closer to his warmth. He smiled at that then gave his attention back to Valo. "I grew up with females mainly, my sisters loved using herbs and soaps and scrubs to wash with—let's just say that I was the only boy in my neighborhood to smell as pretty as a girl." He chuckled, the edges of his eyes crinkling making Valo smile in return.
"Oh, that must have been embarrassing."
He shook his head. "Embarrassing? No," he bit the edge of his lip, "not when the boys saw my sisters. Oh no, they were gorgeous young women, all older than me, they were protective too, and would tease anyone who tried to make me feel bad. They knew what it was to have good hygiene and they never took it for granted."
"Wow, your sisters sound really nice. You must have had an easy childhood."
"Far from it... but eh, they were nice enough, but they were still my sisters, we still fought and disagreed, but it would never last long. Valo," she took her eyes off of his fingers that she had been tracing softly. "Yes?"
