"Ugh, this is impossible," Carlos groaned, looking through the options of clothes that Evie had chosen for his date tonight with Jay.

"Carlos come on, you could turn up in a bin bag and Jay would still land head over heels for you," Evie said, holding up clothes to Carlos.

"I know, Jay hasn't hidden his feelings very well, but that still doesn't help the nerves I have," Carlos bit his lip as he sat down on Mel's bed.

"I was nervous on my first date too, I know it's something we never had experience of but I know the two of you will have an amazing time," Evie smiled at Carlos as she found the perfect outfit for him to wear.

"Where are you taking him?" Mal asked Jay who was in the boys room reading his own closet for clothes.

"To a media museum, he likes his techy stuff and I like watching him look at that techy stuff," Jay smiled, thinking about a very happy Carlos.

"Are you nervous?" Mal asked as Jay got changed into something nice, they'd all been friends long enough to just get changed in front of each other. In fact it wasn't until they got to Auradon and Ben questioned them on it that they even found out it was weird. Why would getting changed in front of people be weird? Ben said it was usually something done in privacy but there was no privacy on the Isle that everyone saw everything of everyone.

"Of course I'm nervous," Jay groaned as he decided to change his mind about his shirt, "it's Carlos, I'm going on a date thing with Carlos, what if it goes wrong?"

"How could it go wrong?" Mal asked, watching Jay look through his closet once again.

"I don't know, what if be burns his mouth on the food? Or if the cinema sets on fire? Or we take a walk along the lake and I fall in? I don't know how to swim and neither does Carlos so he couldn't save me, I guess he could run for help but what would I do in the process? Flail around till he gets back and hope I don't die in the water?" Jay said, having to sit down as he began overthinking his.

"Jay, for the love of everything," Mal said as she moved to sit next to him. "Carlos is a big boy, he knows how to eat his food without burning his mouth, the cinema won't set on fire but if it does well at least you get free tickets and popcorn to see the movie again later and the lake is quite shallow, if you stand up you can walk out of it. But if you're that worried, you don't have to go walk along the lake, there's other places you can both walk around," Mal said, trying to calm her friend down. Jay nodded as he listened to her advice, he guessed all he could really do was turn up and hope for the best. It had taken him months to ask Carlos on a date, he's worked up quite an expectation on how he wanted the night to go, but now he just wanted to see Carlos, knowing every worry will melt away the second he sees him.

Carlos was now ready, looking smart and just as he thanked Evie, there was a knock at the door. Evie had calmed the nerves in Carlos a little bit but not hugely and as Carlos opened the door, those nerves seemed to disappear altogether. Jay was stood, holding a bouquet of yellow lillies, Carlos didn't know anything about flowers but he knew they had some representation and made a mental note to look that up later as he knew Jay would have done the research.

"You look so handsome," Jay said to Carlos who was just stood speechless at the door.

"S-so do you," Carlos stumbled out, Jay held out the flowers and Carlos accepted them, "these are beautiful, thank you"

"Are you ready to go?" Jay asked softly, Carlos nodded and handed the flowers to Evie knowing she would sort them out for him.

"Let's go," Carlos smiled and they headed off.
