9 ½ Months Pregnant

We were at the end of the pregnancy and Malcolm's paranoia was off the charts. He always thought I was going into labor. For example, I was standing at the water jug refilling my cup and I accidentally dropped it.

Malcolm: Oh my God! Gil it's happening

I turned around and looked at him with a sigh. I held the cup up and he looked around with a nervous smile.

Gil: It'll happen soon Malcolm

I shook my head and walked off to the meeting room we were working a case. I'd mainly worked the case from the office, but I delivered a rather convincing speech. So, they'd take me with them to go and arrest our killer. We'd tracked his location down to this abandoned warehouse, it was pretty creepy.

Malcolm: You really shouldn't be here

Celine: After this I'm done with the field, promise.

He kept walking straight and I thought I saw a shadow, when I went to get Malcolm's attention he was gone. I sighed and walked in the direction of it. The warehouse ended up being bigger than I'd expected, I was walking cautiously when I heard Malcolm over the mic.

Malcolm-I kind of lost Celine...

Gil-What?

JT-Dude she's 9 months pregnant, she literally can't run. How'd you lose her?

Malcolm-Well she's carrying a relatively small baby-

Dani-Just find her

I went to say something when I felt water running down my legs, I looked down seeing a small puddle forming where I was standing. I stared down at it horrified, I tried to use the mic to contact the team but all I got was static. 'Okay Celine, everything is going to be just fine' I thought, trying to keep myself calm.

I heard the killer, Isaac, arguing with his shadow. So, I ducked down behind some boxes. A contraction shot through my back and I immediately covered my mouth to keep from crying out in pain. I needed to get out of here, I stood up and turned around only to run directly into Malcolm. He pulled me back down behind the boxes.

Celine: My water broke about 8 minutes ago

Malcolm: Okay, let's get you out of here

Over the mic I could hear Dani & JT saying something about a fire blocking their exit. Malcolm began looking around for anything he could possibly use to get us out of here. His eyes fixated on something before he turned to look at me.

Malcolm: Stay here, I'll be right back.

Celine: Malcolm wait-

He had run off already causing me to roll my eyes as I tried to breathe through the contractions. I heard footsteps and I assumed they were Malcolm coming back, but when I listened closely, I realized they were too heavy. Before I could grab my gun there was one placed in my back, he grabbed my gun and tossed it aside.

Isaac: Come with me

He led me through the warehouse and was walking towards the exit. Before we could get any closer Malcolm stepped in front of the door with his hands up.

Malcolm: Let her go Isaac

Isaac: She's the only way I'm getting out of here

Malcolm: Do you know how to deliver a baby? If the answer is no; I don't think you really want to take her

He looked down at my belly before grumbling and pushing me towards Malcolm, but he kept his gun aimed at us-more specifically me.

Isaac: Hasn't anybody ever told you being a parent and a cop doesn't work. Your child will grow up barely knowing who its parents are

Celine: Yea because you got an A+ in the fatherhood category

He grimaced at me and tightened his hold on his gun. Things weren't looking good right now, and I'm pretty sure the only reason I couldn't feel my contractions is because of the amount of adrenaline pumping through me.

Malcolm: You don't have to do this Isaac

Isaac: My family was taken from me...so now I'm going to take something from you

The sound of a gunshot went off and I closed my eyes to brace myself. When I opened them, Isaac was laying on the ground, dead. I looked up seeing JT was on the railing. Dani & Gil ran towards us and Dani's face dropped when she looked at me, Malcolm's eyes becoming filled with horror as well.

Celine: What?

I looked to my left seeing the top of my shirt was starting to fill with blood. I looked over at Malcolm

Celine: I don't feel so good

The world started to spin as I collapsed into Malcolm's arms. He pushed some hairs out of my face, he was obviously becoming frantic.

Malcolm: You're okay, I got you.

I smiled lightly as the world started to fade in & out. I could still hear the semi-muffled voices of everyone.

Dani: We got to get her out of here NOW!

I was picked up by JT and he carried me outside the warehouse, getting a safe distance away from it. Malcolm began using his jacket to apply pressure to the wound causing me to wince in pain.

Gil: I need an ambulance; we got an officer down. GSW to left upper chest region, Bright keep her talking

Malcolm: Hey, listen to me alright. You with me?

Celine: *weakly* yea

Malcolm: You're going to be alright; you have to be. I need you to live because there is no way I'm going to be able to raise our daughter by myself. She cannot grow up without knowing how amazing her mother is. I've joked with you before on cases about saving your life, but the truth is you saved mine. You have given me the greatest gift I could ever ask for and I love you for that. So...just hang in there okay?

I nodded my head and he wiped a few tears that I didn't even know had fallen. I smiled weakly at me before my eyes felt too heavy to keep open.

Malcolm: Celine...wake up. No, hey. Stay with me

I tried to open my eyes, but I couldn't. Everything had faded into nothingness.

I was suddenly blinded by a bright light. My eyes started to adjust to my surroundings, and I realized I was at a park, and there was a man sitting on the bench. I walked closer to him, realizing it was my father.

Celine: Dad? What's going on...

Dad: You're paying me a visit...I think you're a little early though

He smiled at me and opened his arms signaling me to run towards him. I smiled and ran, jumping into his arms and he caught me and spun me around.

Celine: I've missed you so much

Dad: I missed you too KC

Celine: What's happening? Did I die?

Dad: You've gotten to the point to where you have a decision to make
