After everything Gil was making me take some time off, so when Malcolm called and said he wanted to come over to work a case I happily accepted the offer. It was even better because Paisley was with Jessica.

Malcolm came over and I don't know if it was built up tension that had been pushed aside due to everything going on, but obviously talking wasn't the main priorities on our minds.

Celine: Should we just talk about the case in the morning?

Malcolm: Definitely

One thing led to another and we had a pretty great night. The next morning, I was woken up to someone knocking on my door, I got up throwing on the first shirt I got my hands on which just so happened to be Malcolm's. I opened the door seeing my mother standing there with a smile.

Mom: Hello Kadence

Celine: What're you doing here mom?

Mom: Well I figured with you being off of work and after everything we've been through I'd come spend time with you and Paisley

Celine: Paisley isn't here

Mom: Oh, well that's fine.

I was racking my brain for a way to get Malcolm out of here unseen, but my mother was casually wandering the house. I heard footsteps approaching and I sighed internally.

Malcolm: Hey have you seen my-

He froze when my mother turned around and looked directly at him, and then at me. She was obviously piecing it all together in her head.

Mom: I thought you said Paisley wasn't here

Celine: She isn't

Mom: Oh

Malcolm: *clears throat* I'm just gonna find another shirt and then I'll be on my way

Mom: It was good seeing you Malcolm

Malcolm: You too

He walked away and in less than 5 minutes he was gone. I sighed and sat down at my island, looking at my mother.

Mom: So where is Paisley?

Celine: With Jessica

Mom: Well I think I'll just head over there, leave you to get ready for the day

Before I could get another word out she was out the door. You'd think I'd be excited about her visit, but it was just going to turn into another battle of the grandma's. Malcolm has talked to me multiple times about dealing with my mother, but things have just started to get old. I decided I'd start getting ready in an attempt to wash away some of the embarrassment I was feeling.

I figured I should go out and get flowers for Celine and her mom as an apology of some sort. I was walking past a store when I noticed something strange through my peripheral vision, making me back track. I saw the toy store was being stood up and among the hostages was Celine's mother. I went ahead and called the police before I walked in the store, bringing his attention towards me.

Man: FREEZE

Malcolm: Calm down I was just coming to get my daughter a doll

Man: Does it look like we're open right now?

He stepped closer towards me which gave me the opportunity to disarm him and tie him up. The hostages exited the building and I sat down on a bench next to Lisa.

Ms. Lisa: That was very impressive Malcolm, Celine's father would've really liked you

Malcolm: It was nothing, is that for Paisley?

Ms. Lisa: Yea, I think I'll just have you give it to her, and I'll be on my way

Malcolm: I don't think Celine wants you to leave

Ms. Lisa: It's always funny to hear you all call her Celine...but she may not want me to leave but she doesn't seem to want me here.

Malcolm: She's stubborn, you probably know that better than anyone. She'll come around, you both need each other right now

As if on cue Celine showed up with a confused look on her face, she had on exercise clothes so I'm assuming she was out walking.

Celine: What's going on?

Malcolm: Hostage situation, everything's fine

Ms. Lisa: Yea, and I'll get out of your hair I can understand you wanting your space

Celine: Actually, Paisley called, and you're scheduled for at least 3 private tea parties so maybe you could stick around for a while

Ms. Lisa: I'd love to

She gave me a small smile before getting up and walking off, and I looked at Celine knowingly.

Celine: Go ahead and say it

Malcolm: You sure?

Celine: It's a once in a lifetime opportunity Bright

Malcolm: Well if you insist...I told you so
