WORD COUNT: 769
As terrible as the world was right now, it was nice to be able to spend some uninterrupted time with my boyfriend. For the holidays, Harry and I were staying at Grimmauld Place, along with the rest of the Weasley family and Hermione, with several members of the Order dropping in and out periodically. Although I missed my parents dearly, they were Muggles and it was safer for me to stay away from them with the target I knew I had on my back. I only risked the occasional letter, sent through the regular Muggle post office, but not being with them during my favorite holiday was painful. However, on the bright side, spending my time day in and day out with Harry feeling safe and comfortable was, admittedly, a pretty good positive.
"Y/N," Harry yawned, stretching his arms out for me to join him in the bed. Technically, I was supposed to be staying in a room with Hermione and Ginny, and Ron was supposed to be sharing with Harry, but a few rare Chocolate Frog cards later and he was happily crashing on the floor of the twins' room. I climbed into the warm bed next to my boyfriend, who wrapped his arms around me immediately. I snuggled deeper into his embrace, burying my face in his chest, and felt his chest rise and fall with a sigh of comfort and relief.
"I love you, Harry Potter," I whispered, feeling sleep beginning to creep in on the edges of my vision.
"I love you too Y/N. Sleep well," he responded, pressing a chaste kiss to my forehead. As much as I wanted to stay awake and savor the moment forever, I soon found myself drifting off into a dreamless sleep.
--
One moment, I was dreaming about buying the largest piece of chocolate from Honeydukes and giving it to Ginny wrapped in a hand-knit elf hat, and the next, I was startled awake by a sudden, jolting movement from beside me. Harry was shaking and sweating, calling out in his sleep in some gibberish language I didn't know. He was pale and his brow was covered in sweat.
I was terrified. I had never seen Harry do anything like this, and I knew he had experienced enough trauma for about ten lifetimes, but in that moment I was frozen and unsure of what to do.
"Nagini! Bring me Nagini!" he shouted in a constricted voice. As he continued to thrash about, I realized there was only one thing to do, and that was to wake him up.
"Harry, Harry wake up, you're having a nightmare," I whispered, shaking his shoulder gently. No response. His frantic movements only became worse, and I began to fear he would hurt himself or me if he continued.
"Harry! You have to wake up," I insisted, louder this time, shaking him more forcefully. After almost a minute of trying to rouse him, his eyes sprang open and his face reflected a look of pure terror back at me.
"Y/N? What's going on?" he panted, furrowing his brows in confusion.
"You had a nightmare, Harry. You were shouting in some weird language and asking for something called a Nagini, and you wouldn't stop thrashing about. You scared me, are you okay?" I blurted out all at once. Harry's face changed from a look of confusion to one of distress.
"I was dreaming... I was dreaming that I was him, Y/N. That I was You-Know-Who. He was so angry," he whispered, running a hand across his forehead the way he always did when his scar was causing him pain. Seeing him like this, so confused and upset and hurting, broke my heart into a million pieces. I reached out and cupped his face tenderly.
"It's okay, you're safe. You're Harry Potter and you're perfectly normal. Don't let one nightmare make you think otherwise about yourself, okay? I'm right here and I'm not going anywhere." I continued to whisper comforting bits and bobs as I sat up and pulled him into my chest, running a hand through his hair to calm him down. Gradually, I felt his erratic breathing slow down to a more normal rate, and eventually he was able to speak.
"Thank you Y/N, you don't know how much it means to me to have you here." Before I could respond, his soft snores filled the room, and eventually lulled me to sleep beside him. The Boy Who Lived, asleep in my arms, blissfully unaware of the troubles of the wizarding world around him for a few precious hours.

A/N: sorry this was so short guys, for some reason I find it hard to write imagines for Harry. I don't know if it's because I don't really see him in a super romantic type of way or what but I really struggle with these. I'll try and get a really good one out for you next time, I promise.
