WORD COUNT: 1039

I sat nervously in the stands, twisting my Y/H/N scarf around my fingers. Who would've thought Quidditch would become such a great stressor for me? Of course, when your team was playing your boyfriend's team in the House Cup, who was VERY much into Quidditch, you sort of had to get nervous, didn't you? As much as I wanted to cheer on my friends and classmates, I knew how crushed Teddy would be if the Hufflepuff team lost. Plus, he was no fun to be around when he was all sulky from losing a match.

With a short, shrill blast from the whistle, the game started, and I watched as Teddy soared around the sky, high above the rest of the match, looking for the Snitch. He was the best Seeker Hufflepuff had had in decades, and although he claimed not to think too much about it, he was very protective of his reputation. That, plus the rumors swirling around that he was a candidate for Head Boy next year, had done wonders for his confidence the last several months.

For nearly an hour I sat at the edge of my seat, keeping track of the score as I watched Teddy swirling around to look for the Snitch and my team scoring goals upon goals. By the hour mark, the score stood Hufflepuff 200, Y/H/N 330. An unusually high-scoring match, for sure. But Teddy could still win it if he caught the Snitch before my team scored any more points. I could tell by the way his shoulders were hunched over despite the warm May breeze, that he was feeling the pressure.

"C'mon Teddy," I whispered under my breath, silently willing him on. As if he had heard me from the opposite side of the pitch, Teddy turned his head my direction and suddenly began flying at top speed directly toward me.

"Lupin has seen the Snitch! Look at him go, I haven't seen a flier like that since the World Cup! And here comes Anderson, hot on his tail, but it's no good... Lupin's caught the Snitch! A surprise victory for Hufflepuff in this year's House Cup!"

I jumped out of my seat before I could stop myself, smiling and cheering for Teddy. My friends around me looked dejected, and I felt a few glares boring into the back of my head but I didn't care. Teddy landed his broom on the pitch and returned the Snitch to the referee, then mounted again and darted quickly over to where I stood. I could've sworn I heard a couple hisses and boo's when he pulled his broom to a halt in front of me, but that didn't seem to phase him.

"Congratulations," I grinned, throwing my arms around his neck across the barrier that separated the stands from the pitch. He laughed heartily.

"Couldn't have done it without my lucky charm," he chuckled, kissing my nose gently. "I'm going to go celebrate with the team, but I'll see you tonight?"

"Sounds wonderful, I can't wait." I waved farewell as he took off again, landing where his teammates stood only to be immediately enveloped in a swarm of celebrating Hufflepuffs. Meanwhile, I headed back to my common room with my friends, the defeat finally starting to hit me a little bit. The atmosphere in the common room was very subdued that evening, and I found myself almost wishing we had won so we could be celebrating, but then I remembered I would get to see Teddy later and I cheered up a bit.

At half past eight, a first-year entered the common room with a familiar tall, lanky, sandy-haired boy in tow. Immediately upon seeing him, I jumped up from my seat and flung my arms around his neck.

"Why hello there," Teddy grinned, clearly surprised at my greeting.

"Hi," I said simply, pulling away from him and smiling brightly.

"Time for dinner?" he asked, extending his hand to me. I accepted it.

"I'm starving." As we walked down the corridor to the Great Hall, chatting about the match and how it had gone, we were stopped by Professor Longbottom.

"The Headmistress would like to see you in her office, Mr. Lupin," he smiled, then turned to walk back toward the Herbology gardens. "Oh, and Miss Y/L/N, you had better go too."

Teddy and I frowned at each other in confusion. It would be obvious why McGonagall would want to see Teddy; he had just won the Quidditch Cup, but why me? We diverted our path from the Great Hall to the Headmistress's office, discussion potential causes for this meeting. When we arrived, Professor Longbottom and Professor Astra, both our Heads of Houses, were waiting outside.

"Fancy seeing you two again," Professor Longbottom said with a wink, then gave the password to the gargoyle statue ("Dumbledore") and together the four of us entered the office.

"Ah, Mr. Lupin and Miss Y/L/N, thank you for coming. Longbottom, Astra, you as well. Now, I'm sure you're wondering why you're here," McGonagall began with just a hint of a little smile and a twinkle in her eye. "Ordinarily we'd send you a letter, but I think since the decision has been so obvious, and today seemed like a day for celebration, I'd let you know now. The both of you have been selected as our next Head Boy and Girl, should you choose to accept the position."

I felt my heart drop down to my stomach and whirled around to look at Teddy with my mouth wide open. He had a similar expression of shock written on his face.

"A-are you serious?" I stammered, unable to believe the news.

"Quite, Miss Y/L/N," McGonagall chuckled. "From your reactions I'd take that as a yes?"

"YES!" Teddy and I exclaimed in unison. The minute we were out of the office and away from the professors, Teddy wrapped his arms around my waist and twirled me around in the biggest bear hug.

"This is the best day ever!" he laughed, setting me down before pulling me into a passionate kiss.

"I couldn't agree more," I grinned, grabbing his hand. "Now, let's get some dinner. I'm starving!"
