"I wanted a wedding today." Vernon announced and looked at me.
Halos mabilaukan ang lahat dahil kasalukuyan kaming nagbe-breakfast. What the fudge is he saying? He must be kidding!
My eyes widened. "Vernon!"
"You mean right now?" Hayden seriously asked.
"Yes, Hayden." sambit ni Vernon. "I'm sure a ship captain can marry us."
Hinarap ko si Vernon at hinawakan ang mga kamay niya. "What are you saying, Vernon?"
"Don't you want us to get married, baby?" mas lumambot iyong kaniyang boses.
"Gusto ko, okay? I want us to get married. Pero hindi ba sobrang aga naman yata?" I heaved a sigh.
"I want you to marry me as soon as possible so I can give you my last name, Milan." he said seriously.
I shook my head. "No, you don't get it. I also want to marry you now, Vernon."
"Then, what's holding you back? Don't you love me, Milan?" his voice croaked.
I saw Des mouthed, 'Marry him!' at nakita ko pang tinanguan ako ni Macaria habang nakangiti. Hayden's smiling, too.
I interlocked our fingers and smiled at him. "Mahal kita," I looked at those beautiful eyes. "Vernon, I can't help feeling this was just too soon. Sure ka na ba sa akin? Baka kasi-"
He cut my words off when he suddenly gave me a soft kiss on my lips. "I want to marry you right here, right now, baby. I just don't want to wait another minute."
"Vernon-"
"I love you, Milan. You love me, too. We love each other, right? Be mine, baby. Marry me right here and right now." Vernon smiled and hugged me.
I closed my eyes, placed my arms around his neck, and hugged him tight. "Alright, we are getting married today. I love you so much, Vernon." I whispered.
"Where's your ring?!" singit ni Macaria.
Nakita kong tinanggal ni Des ang singsing niya at ang singsing ni Hayden.
"These are our promise rings. You can use it temporarily for now since nasa gitna pa tayo ng karagatan ng Negros Oriental." nakangiti niyang sabi nang makalapit sa amin.
Tinanggap iyon ni Vernon. "Thanks, Des."
"No worries, Sir Vernon. Basta ingatan mo 'yang friend namin, ha? Baka magtawag ako ng mga NPA para ipatumba ka kapag pinaiyak mo si Milan." biro ni Des.
"I will," Vernon chuckled and looked at me. "I won't make her cry. I'll make her the happiest."
