Author Note: The purpose of these backstory chapters is to hopefully provide a better understanding of my fan made characters. This type of chapter will not influence the main storyline and you don't have to read it. I will provide pictures for age milestones and important events.
Thank you, JCS1314.

"Hello?" Said the aunt of Azumi Ruga after receiving an unknown number call. "Who is this?"
"This is the Japanese Adoption Association. (No forking idea what it's called) Is this Emily Hearthstone?"
"This is."
"You are the closest relative to one of our orphans, Ruga Azumi."
"Really?"
"Indeed. Will you accept guardianship of Ruga?"
"Of course! I'll be there in a few days!" (Lol, I have no idea how this works and I'm too lazy to look it up so just imagine the actual process. Feel free to give hate, I won't care.)
Emily then called her daughter for a surprise trip. "Akira, honey, could you come here?" Little running footsteps then came from around the corner. "Yes, Mommy?"

Azumi was adopted (I am a lazy butt and have no idea how this works) and the family arrived home. She was considered weird by Akira's friends. Azumi hardly spoke and her eyes reflected no light, and never asked to play. She couldn't. (Translations provided by Google Translate so they suck) "Obasan, dō yatte asobu yō ni tanomu no?" How do I ask to play, Auntie? Emily used a translator app so the child could understand her and vice versa. This was normal for the aunt to have her niece ask her for common phrases.

Azumi was very fluent in English by now and turned out to be intelligent and tested into the gifted program (Hence, the Ravenclaw scarf.) She had often been told "go back to Japan, or "You don't belong in America, freak." She never let this get to her. "That's just you're opinion, feel free to judge a picture by its background rather than the main focus." She would respond. (Get wrecked bullies. I didn't feel like book by it's cover really made sense, sorry.) She was always being kind to peers and teachers and ran errands for them.

Azumi was taking a bucket of gasoline for the lawn care guy

Azumi was taking a bucket of gasoline for the lawn care guy. She then tripped over a shoelace that had come untied, the bucket went up in a way which soaked her in the flammable liquid. As she was getting up, with some light cursing, she turned around to walk back to the front office. Then, something hit her in the eye, a match. A lit match. Her face burst into flames. She tried to snuff it out with her hands, as instinct acted. The fire instead spread up her sleeves. The ground was also covered in gasoline, so rolling would only cause further injury. She banged at a window in desperation, as she blacked out from inhaling smoke.
She awoke in a hospital. A doctor was grafting an area of skin on her arm. There was an oxygen mask strapped on her face along with a medical eyepatch. She watched the shadow of the doctor working on the wall, not wanting to distract him. The doctor finished and noticed his patient had awoken. His voice was calm and caring. (The doctor is Patton by the way. I mean, why not?) Patton allowed Azumi's family inside the room.
Aftermath:

After she was discharged, she acted differently

After she was discharged, she acted differently. She had finally had broken. She only ate enough to survive off of, and went straight to her room after school. She wasn't depressed, just broken. She went through therapy sessions. It helped, but she would never the bubbly, eccentric girl again.

She had just been enrolled at U.A. High School as a transfer student. This is where the main story picks up.
