*After four hours*
Neal came to me with his labs.
I went to Will's room 0216.
"Ahh,nice to see you Hayley. At last a familiar face."
I smiled.
"Yeah. Good to see you to Will. So I have got your lab's report and your tumor is now in dormant state but it can become unstable anytime. Any questions?" I asked. He replied " Yea! Only one. Are you free now? If yes, then please sit beside me and we can perhaps play a game?"
"Hmm yeah fine but just one game" I said and sat down beside his bed on the couch. As a doctor it was the most important lesson taught to us and also a rule to make the patient feel comfortable and homely.
"So which game?" I asked
He replied saying "Let's play THE LAST WORDS".I nodded my head."You start."
He said, "Don't cry for me, for I go where music is born."
I replied instantly. "Bach".
He said "Wow. I never expected. Everytime I play this game it is like my wildcard."I smiled
So my turn.
I quoted, " I want nothing but death"."Jane Austen." He replied.
Before I could give my response to his correct answer. He asked his next question."I'm bored with all.'
"Winston Churchill." I replied
And his face broke into a grin.
I asked "It's better to burn out than to fade away.""Ummm.I don't know." He said.
I replied smiling knowing that I had won the game."Kurt Korbain".
Will replied, "Ohhh. You are really awesome at this game. Now it is my turn."
"Will see you soon."I stared at him.I jogged through my whole memory.I did not whose last words it were.
So I confided in him."No I don't know whose last words these are".He replied slowly."My mother's before she died in the car crash.I have not told this to anyone. The cops asked me so did the priest but I said I don't know. And by the way it's a tie you did not know this answer and I did not know the Kurt Corbin answer."
I just stared into his eyes not knowing what to say. There were no tears as if he had nothing more to lose.
I just whispered," You told me a secret.I will tell you mine. I have photographic memory.Thats what helped me aceing my academics as a doctor and also at this game.
He smiled weakly.
I cleaned my throat and got up the bed and injected in one of the tube a dose of dopamine for him to sleep. It was five in the afternoon.I heard my phone buzzing. There was a text from Ava.Her patient was crashing..
I rushed down to room number 2005
