The Choice

Chapter 10

"Well, it was fun. Me and Ava spent some time after so many days."
I told to Will, we were playing Chess.
"So it was just movie and pizza? Nothing else?" Will asked.
"Yeah, pepperoni pizza and 'Back to Enternity." I replied.

"Uhgg. This is the decoy time I have lost in a row" Will said with his voice sounding a little upset.

Then he picked up the board and all the Chess pieces fell on the bed.

I rolled my eyes and started speaking,
"So how was your day yesterday?"

"Well, it was not that nice, the guy named Neal was annoying and did not entertain me but the girl named Sia was really very nice to me. And next time you take the day off please assign her to me."
I replied smiling, " Okay, liked her ass?"
"No! Or wait maybe." He replied.
The room bursted into the sound of the laughter.
"OKAY, wait no more chess let's see who can make two line short creepy story. Okay??" He asked.

"Okay. But you go first." I commanded smiling.

"Hmm, 'I decided to kill off a few characters in the book I'm writing. It would definitely spice up my autobiography a little'."
The way he told was creepy enough to get me goosebumps.

I cleared my throat and said,
" My turn.' They say a shiver down your spine means that someone's walking over your burial site. As my mother walks around outside gardening,the shivers won't stop'."

"Oh my god!! That was cr........."
My phone buzzed.
"Sorry there is a trauma case. I have to go to the ER." I apologized.

" Yeah, but the game is still on. No definite winner till now." He replied smiling.

"Okay sure. Bye and I will send Sia to look after you while I'm gone.Okay?" I told.

"Yayy, my day is already getting better." He grinned.

I walked down till the elevator and pressed floor number one and saw that Ava was leaning on the corner of the lift.

"Sup?" I asked.
"Nothing much, Dr. Medicus has asked me to take it easy." She replied rolling her eyes.
"Okay." I replied giving her an apologetic smile.
" What about you?" Asked Ava.

" Well they paged me at the ER for a trauma case hope that it is something surgical, my hands are itching to take up the scalpel and cut someone." I replied.

" Well consider yourself lucky, Dr. Webber has banned me from the OR till I get better. And well who knows me better than you that I cannot handle so much time out of the OR." She grinned.

" Yeah, you will go crazy." I made the crazy sign gesture.
The lift buzzed that meant that I had reached at my destination.
"See ya later." I said.
"Yeah fine" She replied.

I half ran towards the ER, the case was 300 seconds away.
I reached at the section wore my over coat and gloves and saw Alex and Julia standing there.
Alex looked a little worried.

Julia saw me coming and commented, "Wow, must be a tough trauma otherwise they wouldn't had called three residents."

" Yeah, I hope. I just want to hold the scalpel." I replied.
"Obviously." Replied Julia.

Suddenly Alex whispered in my ears,
" Dude I have to study I have the exam tomorrow and I really need to study cover up for me na."

" Okay, will tell that you are sick and ask her to text Ava instead." I said.

"Okay, bye." Alex whispered.
"Bye." I replied knowing that Alex did not hear it.

" Where is he going?" Asked Julia.
"He is not well, can you page Ava instead?" I asked.

" Yeah sure. Hoping that she comes on time." Julia replied.

She texted Ava.
And we both stood there silently till the trauma case was sixty seconds away.
Ava came running wearing her gloves and overcoat.

As soon as she came, she couldn't even take a breath when the ambulance  arrived and the doors opened and we saw..............................
