The Choice

Chapter 21

AFTER A WEEK

I was attending to the other patients while Will was asleep. It was only yesterday night when Will had arranged for beautiful candle light dinner in the library. We spoke about a lot of things and then he did the most shocking thing. He proposed me and asked me to be his wife and I said yes.

It was worth a lot of talk. Even me being against it, he called the lab and talked me into vitro fertilization. And after a lot of convincing I said okay to it.

And now he was peacefully sleeping. I was going to tell Ava today about everything, just waiting for the correct time.

I was done with a dozen of patients and two surgeries lap chole and  colostomy. I was so excited, we are going to have a wedding by the sea and there would be cake and everything. Oh god. I was day dreaming. I sighed.

Ava was walking past the day room number 0890.

"Ava wait!"

She turned back and saw me. She smiled and stopped and waited for me to call.

"Heyy, sup?" She asked and we started walking together.

"Nothing much, just had two surgeries."

"Well did you hear about Julia?"

"What about Julia?"

"Well she had an abortion."

Oh yeah, I know I convinced Julius to stay by her side during the abortion."

"Okay, so you knew about this too? And couldn't bother up and come and tell me?"

"Well sorry but I am telling you now."

"Where have you been lately Hayley? You are not here with us for lunch, you are hardly at home. What is going on?"

"Fine I will tell you everything."

"Fine go ahead an tell."

"Not here. Let's go somewhere quite."

We walked to nearest supply storage and shut the door from inside.

"Now? Can you tell me?" 

"Yeah fine. Now do you remember my special patient?"

"Will Grayson?"

"Yeah, well I have been like personally taking care of him for a month."

"Personally?"

"Well Dr.Medicus had told me to."

"Okay continue."

"Well two weeks ago when he fainted?"

"Yeah I remember."

"Yeah before he fainted, we kissed."

"Oh my god. Hayley I am not liking where this is going."

"Just listen"

"Okay fine."

"And when he woke up from the surgery and we told him about the transplant he told me that he wanted me to be his girlfriend. And I said okay."

"You said OKAY? What is wrong with you?"

I continued anyway," So yesterday night, he proposed me and talked me to vitro fertilization."

"What did you just say, you said yes to getting married? And having future babies? What the heck is wrong with you Hayley? Are you out of your mind? You just said yes to everything for a dying patient?"

"He is not going to die."

"And you are guarantying to that? There is a reason why we have rules. A reason why there is doctor-patient rule. Please tell me you are not taking part in his surgery!"

"Well I am."

"Well you cannot be, because when you said yes,  you became his family."

"Fine then I will not go to his surgery."

"You really are not understanding it right? You are 26 you just said yes to get married and have kids. You are not ready for this."

"No one is ready for anything."

"Oh god Hayley."

"I love him Ava."

"Do you know what love means? Its is not like in movies with rainbows and unicorns and everything is always happiness Hayley."

"You know what Ava. I am done with this discussion. I had to inform you because you are my best friend. So I am not going to stand here and listen to your bullshit. And maybe I made the right decision you are just scared that he will leave me in aisle just like your ex-boyfriend did.But he won't do that to me.So stop your fears interfering my and let me live in  peace.So bye."

Saying that I walked out of the room and ran to Will room. I was almost in tears.So I went to his room and I saw him sleeping peacefully. So I just went to washroom and I started crying softy so that no one could hear me.

 I got a text from Dr.Ross.

It said,"Good news, going to receive a transplant. perfect match for Will Grayson."

They were no more tears. I was feeling so happy.

I strode out of the washroom and woke up Will.

"We have a transplant." I said smiling

He smiled and kissed me.

"Thank you so much. Since you have been in my life it has been so..."

"You don't need to complete it because it is the same for me also."

My phone buzzed it was Dr. Medicus.
