I reached the trauma centre.
Dr.Medicus demanded, "Who texted Dr.Grey? I am sorry Dr.Grey you cannot participate in the trauma case.""But why?" I asked calmly.
He replied," Because in this scenario your the patient's close person present here. Its Ava Sinclair, Hayley I want you to stay with her. Her parent as you know are no more."My lips started trembling and my body felt weak but crying never came easily to me. So I went to the receptionist and Sierra gave me a sympathizing look. I ignored it and filled up the form regarding my relation to the patient.
I decided to go and speak to Dr.Webber.
"Dr.Webber, I am here as my duty to my best friend Ava. So you have to tell me what happened to her?"He said, " Car accident and writs slit."
I felt like screaming on top of my lungs.
"Wait."called out the Chief.
I turned around and said,"Yes.Sir?"You might be Ava close one but I need you to do your duty as a doctor too.Go and take care of the special case that Dr.Medicus has given you."
I nodded and started walking towards the elevator to room number 0216.
He saw me entering and sat up straight smiling and then he suddenly stopped smiling.
It wouldn't take a genius to guess that he stopped smiling because if my sad expression.
I went inside the room. And he his eyes made me forget that anything actually happened today. He asked,"Everything all right?"
I replied "No......Ava....."
My voice faltered.
He said," Say no more.Come here for a hug.It will calm you down.I don't know anything about medical but I know one thing that hugging reduces nervous tension."My mind was telling me no but my heart reacted differently. I went beside him and hugged him.
And words just started coming out from my mouth."My mother slit her wrists in front of me and asked me not to call 911 and my grandmother recovered from a car accident just to die here from septic and had a toxic megacolon with a perforation and had to be rushed into surgery."
"Shh...."he whisperedHis voice jolted me out of the trance and I moved away from him and cleared my throat. And started him on a dose of Il2.
But he whispered in his weak voice.
"At least tell me the whole story. I don't like to stay in dark."he chuckled."Hmmm. Okay basically my mother the great Meredith Grey had an affair with the Chief during her days as an resident. But she was married to my father Thatcher Grey whom she divorced in order to marry the Chief but the Chief never succeeded in leaving her wife.
So she became all sucidey and tried to kill herself bas per as me. But as per as my psychologist she tried to kill herself to gain sympathy from the Chief so he would leave his wife and come to her instead. Will replied, "She was a great surgeon. If she would have wanted to die then she would have slit her carotid artery not her wrists. Am I right?"
"Yes." I replied.
"And what about your grandmother?" Asked Will.
I replied," My grandmother......... Sorry Dr.Medicus has texted me about Ava. I have to leave...""Yeah,it's okay I understand being a doctor is difficult and time consuming. But come and meet me soon. Its boring here without you.
I flustered.
And then my phone started buzzing countinuosly indicating something is wrong with Ava.
I ran to the OR and sat in the watching gallery.
Dr.Webber came and told me," The accident punchered her lungs and broke an coronary artery. Its going to be a very difficult surgery.Dr.Medicus was trying to mend the lungs and Dr.Parker was trying to repair the coronay artery when Ava suddenly started to crash. Her heart rate came erratic and her Bp dropped down and then she was not able to breathe on her own.
A ventilator was adjusted by her heart rate in the monitor suddenly started beeping and then it slowed down into a straight line.............
