The Choice

Chapter 18

It was almost 10:00. I rushed to the hospital's entrance and showed the security guard my ID and he let me in. I rushed to Will's room. I went to the elevator only to realise that I had took the wrong block and had reached the south wing. I was late because I had changed my clothes like more than twice and now I was wearing a white crop top with a black high- waist jeans and had my red hair loose over my shoulders.

I sighed and rushed back to the entrance and got up to the north side elevator and reached his room. Nurse Lainie had already prepped him. He had a standing IV bag and was not wearing his hospital clothes. 

"Quit staring and at least tell me anything about the surprise."

"Well you will see it on your own and I am not staring."

"Yes you were."

"Fine I was because this is the first time you are not wearing the hospital clothes."

"So are you, you are not wearing scrubs."

Nurse Lainie raised up her eyes indicating that she wanted to have a talk. I smiled at Will and walked out the room.

Nurse Lainie said," Are you sure about taking him? He doesn't look that well."

"Don't have to worry I am a surgeon and I have taken the permission from Dr.Medicus and also the fact that you will be just a phone call away."

She nodded and I went inside the room.

"Let's get going Will."

Nurse Lainie took the handle of the wheelchair and I took the portable stand of IV. WE reached the elevator and reached the roof of the hospital.

"Are you even allowed to bring patients here?" Will asked

"Well too the most no, but you can be an exception." I replied smiling."

"So what are we going to do?" 

"You will see."

I signaled the Lainie to go. And she smile and went down the elevator. I took the handle and pushed the wheel chair to the middle of the terrace.

"Wow! This is an intoxicating site."

"Thanks."

In front us was the cloudless sky. The sky looked as if someone rich just released ten thousands of diamonds in the sky. Each star looked like gazillion of diamonds. And even better in the midst of the sky was the raining of shooting stars.

"So today it is my turn to ask the question."

"Okay. Anything for the girl who brought me to this  amazing view."

"So full name?"

"Ugh, you had to begin with that. Its Will Jackson Grayson."

"What?" I replied laughing.

"So it is basically that my mom named me after her dad, Jackson and my dad also named me after his dad Grayson. So its Will Jackson Grayson."

"Okay moving on, Where are you from?"

"Born in Arizona brought up in London." 

" Okay. so now comes the embarrassing question,number of girlfriends?"

"Okay easy enough two." With a his amazing smirk.

"First alcohol?"

"15."

"Hobbies?"

"Rugby player and as you know an amazing painter and a person who loves to read."

"Should add self- boasting."

"Well is it a hobby?"

"Well you can make it one." And we both started laughing.

"Heyy Hayley I never got to thank you for everything that you have done, you brought me to this amazing place and took care of me and kinda became my best friend.  And you most importantly took off the fact that I am going to die."

"You are not going to die. And thank you too, because you make my day much more happier and it is great to get to know you and lets get back to the questions."

"Yeah right, the questions it makes it like an interview or our first date.. Well which one is it."

"Well interview is going to make it sound kinda boring so lets go with date."  

 I started to blush and he gave his brightening up the room smile."

'So I know not an appropriate question for the first date but what about your parent?"

"Well as you know mom died of a car when I was eleven and dad died in a plane crash two years later and some attorney from the government paid 4,00,000 pounds for each of their deaths so my grandma and me had pretty lavish lifestyle."

"So does she know you are in the hospital?"

"No she died last year.At this point I am an orphan and no one cares even if I die or live."

"Well good for you I care and rest of the doctors here care and if it is stupid thing but even this incredible view cares."

"Well I rather choose the incredible girl than the incredible view."

And then he came forward and I moved forward and our lips touched and we kissed.  I closed my eyes. 

It felt like the best feeling in the whole world an it felt like I Hayley Grey is not a surgeon or a girl whose life has been a never- ending story. It felt awesome to live in the moment. It felt like I was a normal person with nothing to worry about. 

And then suddenly the sensation went off. I opened my eyes and saw Will lying in front of me motionless. It took a second for the adrenaline to kick in.

I picked up my phone and called Nurse Lainie who said she was on the elevator.

I bent down and touched his writs and felt that his pulse and it was there but it was faint.
