4 DAYS LATER.
We were sitting on the bench in the garden. Circling the bench were flower bushes. The place was beautiful facing the mountain side. Arizona was a very beautiful place especially where the hospital was situated. The back side of the hospital faced green mountains and the west side had a small forest. The weather is always good.
"So how are the dreams now?" Will asked.
"Well lately there have been no dreams, since the psych evaluation."
Will was painting the beautiful scenery in front of us.And I was reading 'Paper Towns'.
"Did you ever get bullied?" He asked.
"Well,no I had always kept a low profile even in Med School."
"Why?"
"My mother. She was always famous and I never wanted to hear from other people what a disappointment I am."
"Nobody thinks that you are a disappointment, someday you will look behind and see that from where you had risen up. You are an amazing doctor and an amazing friend. Just one thing even if you are in the most highest place don't take things for granted."
"Thanks."
He then began his next question. This is what we had been doing since two hours and the questions never seemed to end and it never got boring.
"So do still have any friend since the Med school?"
"Well Ava,she was my friend from the med school and now as well.So that is it I guess."
"How did your mother die?"
"Alzheimer."
"Wait, I am not much of a doctor but isn't Alzheimer a genetic disease?"
"Yes, it is and I am predisposed and Dr Parker, our genome sequencer had me tested and there is a low chance of me getting Alzheimer."
"What were her last words?"
"Hayley don't......"
"Wait, what after don't?"
"Don't know and will never get to know.
"Okay, and your grandmother?"
"Well she had a car accident."
"Is that it?"
"No, let me countinue, she recovered from the car accident it was a severe accident but she recovered nicely so she was sent home. She ended up back in the hospital with a fever. They suspected she had an infection, so they ran tests and gave her IV antibiotics. They then placed a central line so she could continue her antibiotics at home. She ended up in the hospital with cramping pain. She was septic and had a toxic megacolon with a perforation and had to be rushed into surgery. Despite their best efforts, she died."
"Oh god. She survived an accident but died due to a septic infection."
"Yeah,but what's done is done."
"Listen don't blame yourself for her death."
"Okay."
"Next question, one sentence that your mom always told. And there is always a sentence like that."
"OK fine, 'The carousel never stops turning.'"
"Did you ever find what is the meaning?"
"No but hopefully someday I will."
He looked up from the painting, against the sun his eyes and hair were glimmering. To see my reaction when he was going to ask his next question.
"So any history of boyfriends?"
"Don't ask,bad track record."
He started laughing and asked,"Fine at least a number?
I pouted and replied, " Two or maybe three."
"Oh god! You really don't have a number either." He sighed.
"You sound exactly like Ava."
He rolled his eyes. And flipped his hair back.
'When do I get the chance to ask you questions?" I asked.
"Well tomorrow?"
"Yeah sure tomorrow."
Will whispered and asked,"We have the time right Hayley?"
"Yes we have time Will." I whispered softly like his tone.
"But now we have to get to your room."
He nodded and I signalled Nurse Lainie and she came there and started to drag the chair.
On our way to our room Will started singing a song under his breathe I couldn't make out which song it was.Suddenly I got an idea to cheer up his morale so I came up with surprise.
Nurse Lainie helped him to get on the bed. I walked up to him and said. "Get ready at 10:00 pm, I have a planned a surprise."
He smiled,"Eagerly waiting."
