"Welcome to Day 1 of our Battles! And welcome to Team Sarah! In an hour ay makakasama na natin si Coach Sarah, but for the mean time ay magpapakilala muna kayo isa isa to establish relationships sa bawat isa 'cause after all, magkakasama kayo sa isang team." One of the staff said, smiling.
Medyo kinakabahan si Julie dahil hindi rin siya marunong makipag-socialize. She and Maqui became bestfriends because Maqui first approached her noon at ito ngayon yung magiging problema niya, or at least iniisip niyang magiging problema.
Isa isa ng tumayo ang mga kasama niya sa Team Sarah para magpakilala. May mga galing sa Mindanao, may galing pa sa Tawi-tawi, to her surprise. Siyempre may mga galing din sa Ilocos, and other parts of the country. Ang pinaka-malayo siguro ay from LA. And then it's her turn.
"Magandang araw po. Ako po si Julie Anne San Jose, from QC lang po. You can call me Juls po." She smiled while looking downwards. She doesn't want to look at her teammates' impression of her.
Natapos ang pagpapakilala nila and the staff started playing their blind audition tapes, making all of them groan because of either frustration or shame. Ikaw ba naman panuorin sarili mo while doing the blinds 'di ba? Another purpose of watching their audition was to know what are their strengths in performing and their committed mistakes during the audition.
Natapos ang panonood nila and Coach Sarah immediately entered the room, making everyone gasp from amusement at the sight of her. Star struck. Sino ba naman ang hindi, ee si Sarah Geronimo yan!
"Hi guys! Welcome to team Sarah! Oh chill lang kayo ha, ako lang to. Hinga tayo." She said while releasing a soft laugh, breaking the tension and the ice.
"First of all, I want to thank everyone from choosing this team. You all made me happy when you chose me to be your coach and I can't wait to share all my learnings in performing to you guys." Sarah flashed her sweetest smile, making everyone at awe because of how soft spoken and gentle her gestures are. Everyone clapped at what she said and somehow got used to her presence.
"So for today, I will just be releasing your battle pair, tapos yung song na kakantahin niyo. I have personally handpicked the song, at yung magiging magkapares." She smiled again, amusing everyone.
"Before pala that, I would like to remind everyone of the mechanics of the Battles. So it would be a duet performance, both having highlights of their vocal skills at unfortunately, isa sa inyong ka-pair ang magpapaalam. But never lose hope kasi may steal so the other coaches could use it to steal you from me. Ngayon pa lang magsosorry na ako if ever hindi ko kayo mapili. Jusko kung alam niyo lang kung gaano kabigat maglet go ng talented singer dito sa The Voice." Everyone flashed their smiles even if what Sarah said is somehow bothering. Wala nga din naman silang choice but to give their best para hindi matanggal.
Nagsimula na siyang magtawag ng mga pangalan at mga kanta na kanilang kakantahin para sa battles hanggang sa umabot na kay Julie.
"Okay our next pair, we have Julie Anne and Mackie, and your song will be I Believe ni Fantasia." Agad na naglapit si Julie at Mackie to start talking about their performance.
"Hi Julie! I'm Mackie! You can call me Mac." Agad na inabot ni Mackie yung kamay niya, same with Julie.
"Hey I'm Julie, Juls na lang." She flashed a simple smile.
"Country songs din pala kinakanta mo, buti na lang pinagsama tayo." Mackie said. Agad na nakapalagay ni Julie si Mackie ng loob.
"Uhm excuse me po Ms. Sarah, iaabot ko lang po itong bulaklak kay Ms. Julie Anne." Sarah smiled sa isang staff at mas malaking ngiti ang binigay ni Sarah ng makuha na ni Julie yung bouquet.
