Today is a rare day. Somehow, I managed to finish my shift on time for the first time in forever. There were no arrests, no dumbass drivers who don't know how to keep their cars in one lane. Everybody had their tags on their vehicles, not in some bags, and all of them were legit. Also, we had no drug search calls for my K-9 Ace to go to. I didn't deal with drugged or drunk people. The shift was too good to be true. I knew something's gonna happen. And the next call confirmed my suspicious.

"Unit 285, there's a robbery in the bank on the 4th Street. The SWAT team is called." Just perfect. I knew it!

"10-4. I'm on my way."

I was pretty close to the bank, just a few streets away, so I was on scene very fast, getting in my gear when I saw the other officers of the team came and parked around me.

"So, boss, what we've got here?" The youngest in the team, Cleo, asked our team leader, Max.

"Not quite sure, boys. We have a call from someone inside saying that there's a robbery happening in there, but no silent alarm was activated, which makes me very suspicious of what exactly is happening." Well, yeah, that doesn't sound very right. Most of the time, we get the call because someone activated the alarm, not from just a random guy.

"There's a chance that the person who's calling might be part of the team trying to rob the bank. But I'm not sure why the hell he'll be calling us." Our team negotiator, Luke, added.

"She."

"What?" Luke was confused.

"The caller is a "she." " Max clarified.

"Oh, ok. Well, that makes things a little bit different, but again, I'm not sure how she managed to call us. Is she still on the line?"

"Yeah, she is talking with the dispatcher, and she's saying that she has some kind of wireless headphones and no one sees them."

"Well, damn, this girl is lucky to have them on her. So, what we know so far?"

Max told us everything that the dispatcher managed to get from the girl in the bank while we were checking our weapons.

"Luke, go talk with the girl, see if she can tell you some more details. We need to be quick because there is a shot person in there. Ask her how he's doing, too."

And while Luke was talking with the girl, the other guys of the team put their gears on. We were discussing different places and ways of getting in as fast as possible. A few minutes later, Luke was back to us, getting himself in his gear and sharing the information he got from the girl.

"So, Lily is our hero here. She's saying that there are five robbers, two with handguns, three with shotguns, and all of them are in the far-left corner, near the last window. The doors are blocked with trashcans and zip ties. And the shot guy isn't good, bleeding too much, and he's not responding."

"Well, that's not suspicious at all. Everybody is in one place, near a window, are they dumb?" Cleo said out loud everybody's thoughts.

"Yeah, there's something wrong here, but we don't have the time to understand what it is. We need to act quickly so we don't lose the shot guy." Max was right. We need to get there as soon as possible.

"So, what we're gonna do, boss? What's the plan?"

"The quickest way seems to be the window, but it will be reinforced, so probably we'll need a like kick starter with some explosives. So, Ralph will put the explosives and blow the window, we'll throw some flash-bang grenades and go disarm the dudes. Hopes that they will be disoriented enough so they won't start running or do something stupid. We have one guy more than them, so Ollie, as our EMT, try to go to the shot man as soon as you can, we'll try to cover you. He is on the right side of the room. When we got them, the medics will take from there. We have two ambulances here; hope we won't need both of them or more. Keep your eyes open. Let's roll."
