So, I ended back where my day started – in Dax's house. Not that I have a problem with that, but to live with him? This thing scares me. Not Dax – he's the sweetest man I've ever met, and I know that he'll do his best to keep me safe and feel welcomed in his place. But...the thing that scares me is that I'm not sure if I'll be able to be just his housemate. Will I'll be able to keep my hands just to myself? Every time that I'm close to him, my mind is just... gone, and the only thing in there is him. The aroma of his skin, the feeling of his calloused hands on me, his body next to mine, his amazing heat, the rubbing of his beard on my neck. I knew that being under one roof with him would be hard, very hard...will he be hard?

"Hey, Lily?" My thoughts of him...being hard...were interrupted by the one and only officer Hall. I felt my cheeks getting warm. Great! It's just what I needed right now.

"Umm, yeah?" I tried to look at him without letting my naughty thoughts merge with the reality. No, I'm not thinking of Dax and what he can do with this muscular body of his. How he'll react if I just jump in his arms. No, I'm not thinking of being this close to him, his lips on my neck while his hands massage my ass cheeks. No, not thinking of the feeling of his ripped abs muscles between my legs, the taste of his skin while I kiss his neck, the feeling of his hair between my fingers...no, I don't...

"Lily? Are you alright?" Dax's voice snapped me out of my daydreaming of him. Shit! Can he tell where my thoughts were? I felt my cheeks were as hot as they could be. Great! Now, for sure, he knew that my mind was not occupied with worries about my destroyed place.

"Yeah? Sorry, I was just... thinking of something." Or someone.

"I was just checking if you were okay."

"Yeah, I'm fine, I'm fine, don't worry." And don't look at me like that, please. This sparks in his eyes, and the little smirk on his lips... He's gonna be the end of me.

"If you say so. Hey, do you want to get you to the mall? Get some stuff." Oh, right. I had nothing. Everything that I owned, no matter how little it was, was gone, destroyed. I guess I'll need some new clothes, shampoo and some other stuff. But, it's not like I had money to spend. I needed to make a plan with what I can't and can live for now. Until I can get back to work...if I ever have one. I didn't call them when I was shot, and that was days ago... Will they keep my place? Probably not. It wasn't like I was the most important employee in there. They can find a new waitress in a heartbeat. I need to find a new place to work, too. And it needs to be close to Dax's place, because I can't spend money on traveling to the other end of the city. Yey, me.

I was still thinking what I really, really need to buy, when strange alarming noise came from Dax pants.

"Shit!" He looked at his phone and sprinted to his room. What was going on? I was staying at the bottom of the stairs looking at his closed door when he emerged dressed in all black – cargo pants, long sleeved shirt with SWAT written onto his left side, military boots. "I have a SWAT call. Sorry, Cupcake. I'll drive you to the mall when I'm done. Hope it won't take a lot of time, but... I don't know when I'll be back. So, make yourself at home, I mean, you are living now here. Don't be shy to look around. If you want, go get some new clothes from my room. I don't mind, pick whatever you like." He came to me and kissed my cheek. "Got to go. C'mon Ace, we've got work to do." And they quickly left me at the front porch, still trying to proceed, what just happened. Dax kissed me. He really did it. It was on the cheek, but a kiss nonetheless. Damn. I was feeling those butterflies all over my stomach trying to escape. Shit! He knew how to let me be speechless.

Who knew how long I was staying outside, looking in the direction he went, but I finally managed to take myself under control and get back in the house. I looked around, checked what he had in his kitchen, and decided to make him a dinner as a 'thank you for letting me stay with you' kind of gesture. I was surprised at how much stuff he had in his fridge and cabinets. He was stocked with food for weeks. Well, good thing for me, I had a big choice what exactly to make for him. Decided that it'll be easier to make a lasagna because it won't need me to stay up for hours. My back was still weak, and I didn't like it when I was walking around for too long. I looked at the clock and saw that it was only 4 p.m. I had some time before I needed to start to cook, so I thought my back would be in better condition if I let him take a rest for a while. And what better place to rest than in a bathtub.
