Emily
The story that Dax told me, it was really sad. I didn't know what to think about his sister, though. Because she was given pretty good cards in life, and she managed to ruin it all by herself. I mean, it was all her choice to go with this Travis in the first place. And to try his pills. No matter how in love you are with someone, if he's trying to make you do something that you are not okay with, then you just don't do it. Say goodbye to that person, and all's good. I am feeling sorry for her. She had it tough, but I was around booze and drugs through my whole childhood and didn't get addicted, and I had a really bad start in life. She didn't. She had a loving family who cared for her. I could feel sorry for what happened with her, but I couldn't excuse her just because she was young and didn't know what exactly was gonna happened...I was feeling worse for Dax, who had to experience this bad news being all alone and away from his family. And is continuing to care big time for his sister. Who, somehow, I don't think, cared so much for him, because if she did, she would've stop after the first overdose, and stay as far away as possible from all kind of addictive stuff.
I was way too deep into my thoughts when I heard the doorbell rang. I wasn't sure if I was allowed to open the door... I know it sounded childish, but it wasn't my house. Yeah, Dax gave me keys for it, but it was his, and I wasn't sure how to react, so I did the first thing that crossed my mind. Stayed still. The doorbell rang again.
"Hey, Lily? I know you are in there. It's not like you can go out as far as I know...C'mon, open up!" What the hell? Who was this girl, and how did she know my name? And what she meant with that comment that I couldn't be out. Does Dax send her? "C'mon, girl, we don't have the whole day." I walked to the door, still absolutely unsure what I was supposed to do. But she knew my name and that I'm here. The only way to know this is from Dax, or one of the SWAT guys. So, I finally opened the door, and in front of me stood a beautiful tall woman with chocolate color skin, green eyes, and long dark hair that was pulled up into a high ponytail. She was wearing tight white blouse and skinny black jeans that fit her perfectly. Her outfit was finished with very high black stilettos that looked scary to have on your feet, but the woman in front of me looked like she had no problem with them.
"Umm, hello?" The beautiful woman smiled when I opened the door and without even asking for permission walked into the house.
"Hello, sweety, how are you?"
"Umm, who are you, and what are you doing in here?" She looked kind and... maybe a few years older than me.
"Oh, Dax didn't tell you, did he?" Well, at least I know how she knows who I am.
"Tell me what?"
"I'm taking you out to go shopping." What?
"Umm, what? I mean, thanks for the offer, but I can..."
"No, no, no. We are doing it. He told me that you don't have anything, so you need to go buy everything. And I'm gonna be helping you with it. C'mon. We don't have all day." I didn't know what to do. I was absolutely stunned that Dax did something like this for me.
"I still don't know who you are?"
"Oh, right. Sorry about that. My name is Minnie, and I know, I'm everything but mini, but that's my real name, and I'm stuck with it. I work with the boys from the SWAT team. Officially, I'm a dispatcher. You'll talk to me if you call the emergency number. Now, we need to go. We have a lot of work to do."
"Umm, sorry, but it's not like I can go out right now. I only have one pair of clothes and they are still waiting for me to wash them. And I can't go out dressed in Dax oversized clothes, no matter how comfortable they are."
"Oh, right! I absolutely forgot about that!" And before I managed to ask her what she was talking about – she was running towards her car. When she got there, she pulled out a bag from the back seat and ran back to the house. How she managed to do all of this without breaking her legs, I had no idea. It looked way too dangerous to run in her high heels. "So, this is for you. I hope it fits okay. Dax couldn't tell me your size, so from his description of you and playing it safe, I decided to get you a dress." She did what? "Now, go try it, I'll wait here."
