Emily
Dax was just parking his car when we saw the other men from the team gather around the building. One of them, Luke, came to my door, opened it, and helped me get out while Dax was dealing with Ace and his leash. The girl at the front of the bar was left speechless when she saw the men with me. She was just staying there and gawking at them. What the hell? I mean, I understand her, they were all so good looking and when they were all in one place - it was hard to decide who...I mean, where to look at. But it was so unprofessional just to stare and not react in any other way. Dax was pissed off of that, so he walked closer to her, Ace with him.
"Ma'am?"
"Oh my God, Officer! Is there any problem? Does someone call the police?" He was still in his uniform, without the belt and the weapons on him.
"Can we have a table for 7 and my dog?" The girl stared like she didn't understand what he was talking about.
"Um, what?"
"I said, table for 7 and a dog." Dax was getting more and more irritated with every second we stayed at the front of the bar. Then the girl snapped from whatever she was thinking.
"Oh, yeah, yeah, sorry. Umm, right this way." She turned around and led us to a table, then quickly left. Then our waitress came, and she acted almost identical like the hostess. Thankfully, she was able to take our drinks order from the first time and quickly walked away.
"Damn, boys, is every time, when you are all out, like this? Poor girls." Everyone looked at me confused.
"What do you mean like this?" Are they for real? I looked at every one of them and saw that they really didn't know what I was talking about.
"Well, Ollie, all of you are very handsome men, but when you are all together... It's hard for the women around you to function properly." They were still looking me blankly, not understanding what I was saying. "Are you guys fishing for compliments? Okay, okay. I'll try to say it again. I'm sure every one of you had a moment when you saw a pretty girl and your brain was left blanked. Or if not blanked, then you imagine all kind of stuff doing with her, right?" When I looked at each of them, they were all smirking. "So, imagine the same effect, but you see a bunch of handsome women in one place. How do you think your brain will function?"
"I'm sure my...brain," Cleo said, quickly raising his eyebrows a couple of times, showing me that he wasn't talking about his brain at all. "...will be very happy if that happens."
"Well, it's the same with women, but less obvious to the people around."
"So, you are saying that all the women around us are having naughty thoughts about us?" Cleo started looking around like he wanted to see if I was saying the truth.
"Um, yeah, you can see the lust in the eyes of the braver ones and the uncomfortable blushing in the shy ones." Then everyone on the table started looking around, including me, to see the confirmation of my words. And lo and behold, half the women were licking their lips seductively while looking at the men around me. The other half was trying to take a quick peek. Then Cleo looked at me.
"Is that why you are blushing all the time? You, too, have naughty thoughts about us?" I felt my cheeks getting warmer. Fuck!
"What! No. Of course not! No naughty thoughts. Just...well, like I said... you all are very handsome, so sometimes it is hard to think straight." The other men on the table nodded understandably while still looking around. I dared a looked at Dax and founded his eyes on me. Shit! I'm sure my face was like a tomato by the time the waitress came with our drinks.
"So...um...for how long are you guys in the SWAT team? " I tried to shift the conversation to a safer place. Somewhere where I wasn't gonna make a fool of me. Max was the one to answer.
